EDM Cluster for my CRX
A friend of mine has an CRX Si EDM cluster for sale (he brought it over from Europe) but I can't get it to work in my '88 Si. All the plugs fit but nothing works.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the EDM vs Domestic cluster wiring?
Thanks!

Not sure if this helps but I found this last night having to do with the EDM cluster wiring diagram and the us diagram http://www.angelfire.com/ca/DrOhm/SiRcluster.html
I have an 88 Si and installed an EDM cluster and I'm here to tell you that it is not plug and play. If you do not understand wiring...do yourselves the favor and do not attempt.
If you do try, you will need the following:
1. The wiring diagram of the USDM 88-89 cluster of your model.
2. The wiring diagram of the USDM 90-91 Si cluster.
3. The wiring diagram of the EDM 90-91 EE8 clutser.
The link above is a good DIY write-up and is correct from what I remember.
How I did mine was to remove the dash and dash harness of my 88 Si. I bought a USDM 90-91 Si dash harness. I re-wire the USDM 90-91 Si dash harness to match that of the EDM dash harness. (just a couple of wires needed to be switched around)
While I was at it, I swapped the 88-89 turn signal/hazard/wiper switch assembly with a 90-91. This is not necessary for the EDM cluster...I just wanted to do it so I could use the EDM Cluster bezel and switches which are slightly different than the 88-91 USDM ones.
I also wanted the "low fuel" light functional. For this you will need a fuel quantity sender with the extra "low fuel" sender. Now before you get any ideas...there are no USDM fuel senders for the civic or CRX that have the extra "low fuel" light sender and the only USDM honda sender that would fit in the CRX tank is from the ever so rare Wagovan. good luck on finding one from a Wagovan.
I had to fabricate one using parts from a Integra fuel sender. It works well and I'm glad I took the extra time to do it.
Good luck.

Ah hah! I've spent the better part of 2 weeks researching the cluster swap. The other day I tried to install the DA sender and found that the cover was obviously too large. I found a thread on another forum with pics that showed the person cut the DA sender cover and used JB weld to graft it onto the EF sender cover. I think I will do the same mod, but I will either weld or braze the two components together to make it work.
Can you elaborate as to what you did to fit the DA sender into the EF tank?
Thanks!
