Default Just broke bolt on rear shock/lca....

Alright, so we did the front of the car(installed new springs) and we got to the rears and i was pretty sure the the bolt would break, and it did. Now i have an extra parts hatch that i can take the LCAs off of. But i am worried about getting the ones on the current car(one with broken bolt) off without breaking the bolts that attach to the hub area and the other bolt(not shock one of course), should i be worried about those breaking? what is the best course of action?

should i be worried about the other LCA bolts breaking(the ones to remove it) like the shock/lca bolt did?

I would recommend that you spray some sort of lube like liquid wrench on the bolt and let it sit for a while before you try to remove them. It may make life a lot easier.

I have done my fair share of suspension work and have come across that same problem numerous times. I would definitely spray all of them down with wd-40 or some sort of lube as mentioned before, and let it soak in for awhile...

Good luck

when i lowered my hatch i never un-bolted the strut from the lca.. i just switched out the entire strut and lca with my crx stuff ( shorter piston struts..) but anyways.. when i did my girls 4 door. the strut bolt broke off, the other came out fine.... and when i went to use the lca from my hatch, the strut bolt broke as well. never had a problem with the lca mounting bolts. just be sure when you go to use the other hatch lca, take it out withought un-bolting the strut, or else you will probably break that one as well..... just a though.

i still need a left rear lca for a 4 door 95 civic ex. and probably a strut as well... she needs one that has the rear sway bar mount on it... anybody has one let me know.

thanks. been soaking it in pb since last night. going to go get a torch just to make sure. the bolt for the shock/lca on the parts hatch was a west coast car so it came out soooo easy. i wish i had some gsr LCAs to put on there. im going to use alot of antiseize. would antiseize or lithium grease be better?

I put anti-seize on my new LCA bolts, just to be safe since I live in Heyhio. And as long as you use some sort of liquid wrench, you shouldn't be worried about the other bolts on the LCA's to get them out. I also wish I would have waited to get GSR's or any other that allows a sway bar install.

i kept soaking the lca bolts(2 bolts that hold it on) morning and night just to be sure and the impact took 3 of them off and one didnt budge, so i used the breaker bar a little then impact took it right out.

I'm so paranoid that mine are going to snap too. I spray my lca bolts with WD40 every weekend. Hopefully they will be fine by the time I get my conversion in.
