Default Using the Sparco seat base in CRX.

Seems like one leg(rear one where belt latch bolts)is longer the other side by 3½".

It looks like I will have to do some fabrication, modification to the existing seat base.

I'm a bit disappointed since I bought this to be a bolt-on affair and didn't want to fabricate one myself from flat bar....

WE made a research and there made like that.So this ain't an error.

Since we are in winter I didn't check(remove seat)for fitment.But trust me,this ain't a bolt-on affair

Did someone have a know-how or some pics to show me before I cut-weld,drill the stock one?

I was wondering too from which country they(Sparco) use as a reference to make the base seat....Does European have different seat rail?

Oh well....just passing the info,I believe!

Interesting, the bracket I got with my Sparco seat fit perfectly. It's manufactured by Wedge engineering.

Ah yeah?!?!?!?

I will take a pic tomorrow.

Mine too is a Wedge Eng.

Maybe it will fit,but according to my own eyes, one leg is longer(On the Wedge base seat) then the oem one.So basically, you have to drill a new hole in the floor pan or get some creativity with the base seat...

I would like to hear more of what you have done.

Francois-what year is your CRX? I'm not sure if this is true, but I think 88's are different when it comes to the mounting spots on the floor. I have a 89, and the bracket fit perfectly. Dunno really what could be the problem. Maybe they sent you the passenger side or a Civic on by accident.

Mine is a '90.
The base is for a driver side and it is for the '89-91 CRX.

WE asked a guy who bought 2 base seat from Sparco 2 years ago.He say's he had to modified it to fit his car.

I will send a pic tomorrow, now it is time for me to go sleep.

Thanks.

That's bullshit, don't tear it up yet, return it and get your money back or the right one. When I had my sparco it went in perfectly. I believe the 90 and 91's have a different pattern than the 89's. I know the 88's are different. Even though the thing says 89-91, I almost sure there's a diff in the bolt pattern between 89 and 90-91.

Here's the pics of my Sparco base seat.

http://www.msnusers.com/FrankCRX/shoebox.msnw?Page=1

AS you can see.there is no way this is going to fit has it is...

Any inside,info,etc....

The shop told me this is the right one(He did a search)...a guy who bought them(same part#)2 years ago say's he had to modified the leg that is longer....

I need to know for shure...
I keep it and try to make it fit...or
I told the shop that someone is wrong...

Thanks in advance

The Bracket you have looks just like my stock one and I have a 90 SI hatch one side is loger then the other like that

I would double check to see if they orderd you one for a hatch or a CRX they are diffrent and years are diffrent to

Ok.
With response from all of you(Keep them coming),I'm starting to get confident that maybe I could have the wrong base seat.

But,the sticker say's it is for a Driver side CRX '89-91.

My brother has a '90 Civic.I will find tomorrow if it could have been for a Civic....'cause except for that leg, everything make sense!
All the measurement is fine...except for that leg.

It is not a big problem(Since I could cut,drill,weld,etc.)....but I would prefer a bolt-on job since I could put more time elsewhere on the car....

If somebody could came up with a pic from it's rear rail on his CRX that would be very cool...since I would find out who's right, for shure!

ok, i know you say you have a 90 crx right? well i have a 90 crx also, and my STOCK seat bracket does NOT look like your STOCK one, but it does look JUST like your SPARCO one. your SPARCO seat bracket, looks liek it would bolt right up, in to my 90crx. so either you have a 88 CRX or you have any year civic hatch. also, your stock seat belt buckel is bloted to the floor boards, on 89-91 crx its bolted to the seat, thus making your "crx" either a civic or a 88 crx. sorry man, you got fucked.

on the back rail closer to the door does it angle down?? i know from 89 that the rails are different to 90. but maybe thats just in the hatches.

kinda off topic, but i have a momo seat and i tried using my stock rails custom welded to a bracket that was made, but when i installed the seat the rail closer to the door needs to be like lifted to make the seat sit right, i have it right now sitting on two shoes to hold it level but i am still not centered with the steering wheel (bracket that was made is jacked up i guess) any help with my problem would be appreciated. if i take the two shoes out i get the gangsta lean to the left!!

You made my day!

I said I have a '90 Crx how in the f...... world I could have a Civic????

I just figure out that you guy's have the belt in the door.In my Helm's...the bracket on the right is different. The buckle is on the slider...not on the floor as ours.

So that probably means that Sparco use the Usa model to built is base seat....

Oh well, guess I will have to put somemore time there

Thanks for your help.

So those canuck seats are different? Yea, the buckle was on the slider for mine, and it had the bracket for it on the sparco bracket. Well good luck.
