What do I do, endlink bolt snapped half way, bolt still in rear lca
Anyways, Today i decided to put my R shocks/springs on. Everything was going okay, until I put the the Bolt that connects the swaybar endlink to the type r rear lca. My frined and I were turning and hten next thing you know.. SNAP. We were forcing it in too much. The thread on the rear lca was a bit threaded b/c it was rusted off..
should have just payed $20 for a new one...
My question to you people is how do I go about fixing this? the bolt is still partially inside the rear lca. Its all the way inside so I cant clamp it and yank it out.
What do I do about the rusted thread?
I heard that I should just knock that welded nut on the rear lca off, and just weld a new nut to it, and it will be just good as new? Is this correct, or if I knock it off I'll tear my rear lcas?
Lesson learned: IF a type r rear lca is not $70 shipped or less.. DO NOT BUY. The $20 I saved is not worth the trouble I am having now. It is brand new $100.

When i was installing my Tie bar on my car i found out someone used the wrong bolt and when i finally got the bold out i had broke the nut off (spot welds and all). I went to a hardware store and found a nut and a lock washer and i got a new bolt. If you can get the nut off and the bolt out by breaking the nut loose i say go for it. I had a shop look at what i had done after i had drivin on it for about 2000 miles and they said its fine like that. They said they would spot weld it for me but that there was no need so i just left it alone. Even if you want to have a nut spot welded back on its only a few dollars to do.
Edit: Would it be possible to tap whats left of the bolt out or is it already treaded into the nut?

damn bro that sucks... free bump for ya...
As for how to get that piece of the bolt out... i vaguely recall some of the members discussing some craftsmen tool.. but i think it was for stripped bolts not the kind stuck in there... most likely you're gonna have to drill it out

Ah thanks guys...
the bolt is pretty much inside the spot welded nut. already.. i think i can tap it out? If i heat it up or something?

Similar thing happened to me cept it was my front lca where the endlink snapped, good thing it wasn't threaded. I'd say either drill it or try and heat it up and tap it out.
