*pics* of agen2integra's meng manifold with wastegater runner that fell off
here are the pics. great welding. enjoy.
this is what i saw when i opened the hood
as you can see that not only did the weld break, but the metal itself cracked, its pathetic that even the wastegate runner needs to be supported for this thing to stay together.

ya, mengs(OBX's, whatever brandeds) are junk...there are going to be a lot of pissed-off people out there...

the only thing that kept the wastegate from falling out of the car is the vacuum line it was dangling by.

the manifold also cracked twice on the #4 runner. one crack was welded back together and a week later the runner cracked at the head flange. you can see both in this picture.
hahaha holy crap i can't believe it...
when I was at Jotech today I asked Tony "got any Meng manifolds left?"
he says "Yeah I do, and I'll make you a really good deal on one!"

ouchlucky the custom turbo manifold I had made for my civic was from a performance exhaust shop with real experience in this sort of stuff, unlike meng.. Meng just copy, reproduce, and sell. Their NA headers are good stuff, but I guess they stay together without cracking since they don't get as hot as a manifold would.
to tell you the truth, I don't know of anyone in thailand who has meng make their turbo manifolds (i know a lot of people in the racing community here), most people go to 2 other places that I know of.
the shop I had my manifold made from, also does stuff for JUN thailand, and a whole lot of other big name performance shops in Thailand. their quality is top notch.

I so wanted to say something more direct, but it was the in thing at the time and everyone jumped the bandwagon. I'll tell you what, if anybody that has a cracked meng manfold, if you can provide me with pics of your manifold I'll give you a deal on an InlinePRO T3 cast stainless steel manifold. I will also give you a LIFETIME warranty against cracking.

nto to rub salt in the wound or anything, but is there anyway you could get a pic of how thin the wastegate tubing is, or maybe even get a pair of calipers on it? I have heard it is 12 gauge, but i dont believe it. Thanks...
sorry to hear that man...
never getting a meng
do you need to put compressor on drivers side though? or just by choice?
edit: posted too soon.
would like to know too

seems like whoever's welding thoes isn't using enough heat. Tig welding is not good if the weld doesn't go deep enough into the metal.
