is it possible to do this to gain some displacement?

I think he's referring to the D17 in the 2001-up civic. I seem to remember seeing a post about this a while back. No one was able to confirm whether the extra displacement came from a longer stroke or a larger bore.

forget about it.....too many differences including crank journal size....not worth the effort/cost to gain 100cc. BTW the extra displacement comes from stroke.
