Default 92 EX 4-dr - What class(es) would it be most competitive?

Just what it says. What class(es) would I be most competitive in? Consider I'm new and in the midwest. Car is driven daily. Not looking to rule the universe, but I would like to pass a person at some point.

If you literally want to pass someone in your class on the race track, you are in deep weeds with the current SCCA club racing classes. You would be fine in MWHC, where the car is appropriately classed but in SCCA you end up in ITS - "competing" with the RX7 III, e36 BMW 325is, and Integra GSR.

Having said that, you are exactly the reason that we are trying to change things with an initiative called IT2. Take a look at http://www.it2.evaluand.com for a bunch of info. I have also requested that the SCCA comp board consider classifying the 96+ EX in ITA. If that request is well received, it would make it a relatively easy thing to get the previous generation EX moved out of S but these things take time. I would be surprised if my request is considered before the end of the 2003 season...

You also have some other options, like the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs (http://my.execpc.com/~mcscc/) that might give you the outlet that you are looking for. I don't know a lot about their programs but it would be worth a look.
