CRX seats into Civic - How To
i know some people have been wondering how to put 90-91 crx sseats into a 90-91 civic. well, it's not east, but it is doable. i've got the driver's seat in now, and it's bolted in using the stock mounting holes. and i'll try and take some picture and exact measurements when i put in the passenger seat.
you need to crx outside rail and the civic inside rail.
1.crx outside rail - bend the rear tab on the rail so it's angled down, and angle the front tab down more. grind the front and rear holes downward to make then bigger. then make two brackets for it with holes 1 5/8" apart center-to-center (i used 1/4" steel plate). bolt the brackets to the bottom of the seats, then bolt he rails to the brackets. you'll need to notch the recline lever housing to let the nut fit. you also need to use some fender washers to space the rail down so the bracket doesn't hit the adjuster lever on the rail.
2.civic inside rail - you'll need to make 2 brackets for the civic inside rail. the rear bracket needs to have holes 32mm apart center-to-center and the front bracket needs to have holes 70mm aparts cetner-to-center (i need to double check this distance). install the rear bracket first on the seat. you'll need to use fender washer with a total thickness of 30mm to space the rail from the bracket. i used 2 washer between the bracket and the seat, and the rest between the bracket and the rail. i then installed the front bracket and used as many washer as needed to fill the gap between bracket and rail.
final fitment -
1.i used the civic seat adjuster wire and rebent it to fit the two rails. the crx adjuster wire will be too short.
2.i ground out the civic side mounting holes to the ouside. the the crx front mounting hole to the ouside to get everything to line up. i think this can be avoided by making the civic rail brackets a little longer. i'll expirement with this when i put the passenger side seat in.
