Runs around mid to high 16's. It's not a good basis for a drag car, but it's got a good feel for everything else.

yeah i know they aren't really made for the strip....but i was just wondering if they are like 14 sec cars or like 18 sec cars. What are popular mods/swaps for these cars to make them quicker? are they carbed?

The stock engine is a 4A-GE (G stands for the performance valvetrain and E stands for EFI) with around 118hp (which was pretty damn good for a 1.6L 4cyl back in its 1983 debut in Japan). A good swap is the modern 20-valve 4A-GE with 165hp which comes in the Japanese AE111. Another common swap is the supercharged 4A-GZE also with 165hp found in the AE101.

You can read about the different variants of the original 4A-G here:

Please email me with your offer/trader at b.meihack@attbi.com or PM iw ould prefer email as my account is shared by one roomate. This/These cars are very fast track cars...not really ment for drag well neither is a honda but yeah you get my thing it likes tracking events...

I will be providing more pictures shortly of the interior/engine bay and susp.

These replies are kinda late.

Actually, the AE86 part is not related to the VIN. It's a chassis code. If you look on your firewall, the tag should read "Chassis: AE86". The AE88 is VIN designation for the US model, but the car is still an AE86.

Also, by asking whether it was an 85 or 86, he may have meant whether its an SR-5 (4A-C) or GT-S (4AGE).
The 4AGZE also came in the AW11 Mk1 MR2.
