What happens to EBC Green Stuff when used properly
What they look like before:
And after a NASA HPDE at VIR:

P.S. - all that crap about EBC greens not stopping well is bull. They stop fine. My instructor said "Your brakes kick ***." I know there are better track pads, but a good street/moderate track pad is these EBC's.

i used them on my type R. red stuff... they worked badd *** on stock rotors. lasted a good amount of time and not alot of dust..
you running stock rotors too??
1994 Prelude VTEC rotors - manufactured by Brembo, redrilled to 4 x 100 to fit the 92-95 EX hub.
I don't think you could exactly call those "stock", but they are conventional rotors.
Where'd you get them and how long are they "supposed" to last
The best part of the story is how the green backing plate of the pad is now black as heck (you can see it in the caliper).

arent they supposed to be very low dust pads? looks like alot of dust to me
what pads are really low dust pads that perform well?

dang, can't even tell it's green anymore. how do they fare on the rotor wear?
Shawn
Sorry, but I don't know what I'm looking for in the second pic. Could you fill me in?>
EBC greens were really designed for this use. Not what they are bought for by most people, though. They end up on showcars all the time, because they were designed as a low dust performance pad. This attracts people who really have no need for that good a brake pad.
I just wanted to show off what they can REALLY do. They can brake well enough to generate enough heat to burn off the green paint they are painted with.

Gotcha.
I've always read mixed reviews on that pad, so I didn't know what to think about it. It has however, always been on my To-Try list, along with AEM, Hawk, etc. Probably going with AEM next.
I had Axis Metal Masters and I think they were just awesome, but more dust than I've ever seen from even cheap autozone pads.

I was kinda unsure of using them too, but when Brian from Fastbrakes offered them to me with my 11" upgrade for real cheep I decided to go for it and i'm very happy I did
I agree that I really don't think they really are a low dust pad, but who cares

Shawn,
As you get faster and brake harder.. you will burn up the ebc's so fast.... Trust me I know I did my first track event last year @ Jefferson circut... and toasted my EBC greens so fast I was not funny... they were smoking big time when I came of track and were glazed heavily. Switched to axxis ultiames for the time being and they stop better than the EBC's and have help up at CMP, LMS, VIR-N and BVIR-Full. I am running stock brakes however are you? My next set of pads will be the cobalt friction pads, I think the are the GT-R1 compound.
P.s. I assume you had a good weekend? I saw you out there and meant to come by and say hi,, however my annoucing duties took precident.

These are by no means stock brakes. Those front brakes are Prelude VTEC rotors with the Accord Wagon caliper (very close approximation to Type-R brakes).

Most interesting to see though is how good my car is. My instructor loved it. The straightaway power was amazing. The only thing that could accelerate with me was the Porsche. Everything else I had to lift so they could pass. The brakes ROCK. I have way too much brake for street purposes. This last weekend is the first time I've ever utilized them to their full ability.

Just wondering, where did you get the VTEC rotors drilled at?? I have a set at my house and would like to put them on my car if possible.
when i was at napa i was just staring at ceramic non-brake-dust pads.. they were calling to me.. but i past them up.
Very interesting. I would really like to try these pads now.
What are the specs on your car? Engine, suspension, and brakes please.
Also, how do you like them on the street? I have been looking at Hawk and Panther pads for my M Roadster and VX for Auto-x/Street but after reading this, I think I will go with these pads. I also plan on doing track events so this looks like a worth while pad. I have also been leaning towards this pad because of it's price.
Because of the glazing, do you think you should step up to the Red Stuff pads? I am still deciding on what pads to get as I would like to have good pads for street/Auto-X/track (eventually).
Any input would be great.

I ran the EBC green stuff crap for a year and I hated everything about them. here's why.
they dust like a mother, even though they claim low dust
they warped out my rotors way too often
they are somewhat expensive and wore faster than stock pads.
I took them out with 1/4 life left and slapped on some Axxis Metal masters and I have been a happy camper ever since.

My buddy had them on his Accord, he hated them. Give them one evening of driving and you'll have a different color wheel, thats for sure.
The funny thing is, he got the Green Stuff pads cuz he didn't want as much dust. Yea, the pads he took off to replace with the Green Stuff pads were definitely EBC Green Stuff pads

If you want to talk about brake dust, get some Project Mu. I had some with my c2 on my Integra. I would wash my car in the morning and by the end of the day my wheels went from blingin to gunmeta. Good write up on the pads though. I have heard good and bad, but not enough to make me want to try the pads out until now.
