CTR N1 Pulley - 2.5TL P/S belt Does NOT Work...
Yes there's a few other topic going on about this, but none of them have specifically adressed this issue.
I'm currently (as in right in the middle of at work) putting on the CTR N1 race pulley on my B18C5 and I purchased the Acura 2.5TL p/s belt as directed by numerous MB members.
It does not fit. It must be at least 30mm too short. I've tried setting the alternator at full inward to get it to fit, but no luck at all.
The Acura part number is:
56992-P1R-004
The belt numbers on it are:
4PK700
now the CTR pulley is smaller in diameter than the O.E ITR pulley, but not THAT much to take an 85mm shrter belt like this one.
As soon as I get the correct belt info I'll post it up as a double-check of sorts for anyone else looking to do this job in one day w/o having to make an additional trip to the parts store.
I'm not trying to make anyone look bad who has posted "use the 2.5TL p/s belt" or anything, but I must admit I was a little pissed that it's taking more than my alotted 1 hour lunchbreak to get this job done now because of the misinfo posted up numerous times.
Has anyone actually tried the 700mm belt and gotten it to fit? It seems impossible w/o pushing the alternator to full "loose" and then really prying like hell on the belt while turning the crankshaft - this cannot be a good thing.
Anyways I'll be back with a Gates/Bando part number.
If anyone knows of an O.E 4-rib belt that is like 735mm please let me know - Honda/Acura delivers to us and O.E is best IMO, even on somthing so trivial as a belt.

ouch that sux, sorry for the wrong info tom
i know that anyone that has a b18c SHOULD be able to use a 4PK735 belt, that i have sent out to guys getting it for the 1.8 and no complaints; where i have heard complaints is from when i send that size belt to b16 guys and they come back to say that is too long. so MAYBE that acura belt will work for b16?

You clearly state that it's the p/s belt, and it's not just you either. There's been 5 or 6 different people on the ITR MB alone that have said the same thing.

In any case I just asked for a Gates 745mm belt and it's on and perfect.
Even the 735mm would be a tight streth trying to get it over the crank pulley itself. Once it was on it'd have some slcak, but the 745mm one was already pretty tight going on.
745mm belt works 100% perfect.
Again i'll have to double check the Gates number, but I have to get the little sleeve for it.
You can use a belt from a 1981-86 Ford Escort. Its 29.0" and fits my b16 in my crx perfect
it only cost $13 CDN too
The part number is 290k4.

4 CAN x 73,7 cm
Hope this helps others in their search.
