this is not supposed to happen in san diego [HYDROLOCK!!]
edit: got the spark plugs off, ready to crank it, but don't know how exactly... do i need to step in the clutch?
to make a long story short, i have installed an AEM CAI without a bypass valve, i just ordered one. anyway, i drove or shall i say made it only halfway through a river of water near walmart [for the sd peeps who know it] and i hydro locked my motor. all things point ot me being royally fucked, but hey! i'm just wondering if i need a whole new motor, or if it can be fixed, i remember reading a thread about someone earlier and there was a glimmer of hope. i'm going to open her up tomorrow, what should i do guys?? i need your help!!!

i hope you didnt suck a lot of water, take out your spark plugs and feel for water...i would let the car sit in the sun, if there is any tomorrow, with the spark plugs out just to make sure (hopefully what little) water evaporates...
damn that sucks! These past couple days have been hell. The same thing happen to my friends motor too. He just got a whole new motor.
now it costed your engine
I just ran over a big puddle of water few days ago and I didn't even bother to slow down

anyways
pull out the spark plugs out and crank it over and over again, I think white liquid, sticky stuff will come out. Change the oil immediately and do so every 500 miles for until white stuff go away
can the car run at all?

i don't know, i haven't tried to crank it yet. i've read this post on T-I.net and i'm wondering if it'll be safe to wait until tomorrow morning, or will rust start already?? http://www.team-integra.net/forum/di...urnPage=Search
turn the key, make sure you TAKE OUT THE PLUGS!!!! or the water will have no where to go when piston comes up with all 4 valves closed

ok, ive been through this... i will go in steps
first of all... DO NOT CRANK THE CAR!!!!
second of all... DO WHAT I SAY IMMEDIATELY!!!
i didnt hydrolock my engine, but i let it sit for a day and the cylinders rusted to the block... ok, here we go
1) remove valve cover and spark plugs
2) get a pump and remove all the water you can, when most of it is out, get some absorbant rags and one of those claw things. stick pieces of the rag down the cylinder hole to absorb the left over water
3) get some "marvel mystery oil". this stuff breaks up and prevents rust, and most importantly, isnt flammable. pour a little down the cylinder holes and across the valves/cams. let this sit for a day.
4) while waiting, drain your oil. if it is milky, you have some problems, but hopefully just a headgasket.
5) after a day, remove the mystery oil, replace all parts, and try to start. if it cranks, you are in good shape. if it is frozen, you are pretty well screwed. try rocking the car back and forth on a level surface and popping the clutch. dont be moving fast or you could break the crank. if you are lucky, it will break free whatever is siezed and you are good to go.
it takes an awful lot of water to actually hydrolock an engine. most parts dont get damaged. the downside is the inside of an engine will rust faster than cheap brake rotors. keeping rust in check is the only thing that will save your engine.
