Type-S airbox assembly
I have one on my bb1 if that counts. Good midrange. That aside, not too far off from stock. Kept me in GS though

Yep and to be honest with you I like it allot better than the AEM intake I had for the 97-01 Ludes. I first had the 92-96 intake in 99 when I got the car, (best model for the bb6). Sold it and then went with stock, then a year ago i go the JDM intake when i got my head. OMG it was well worth the money. I think the chamber made a big different. It seems as if air is "on tap" and as soon as you open the throttle, the punch its there
i got mine form http://www.Randperformance.com for 180 shipped try them!!!

This was a few years ago, when the 2.5RS came in and pwnd GS. Yippie. But then I doddled over to STS, after my strut bars and such. GS out here is strong.

If you had a real JDM TypeS Prelude, it would probably have to run in a Mod class. They might allow it in Street Mod maybe - which is an almost unlimited street-legal class.
A stock VTEC prelude is eligible for D Stock. If it had a TypeS intake, it should technically be in STS. But if that's all it had done, I don't think most people would care if it ran DS.

I have one fitted to my 95 VTEC . Paid equiv to $50 for it from a 99+ Prelude owner who bought an aftermarket "noise trumpet". Mine works!
Here is a pic of it fitted. I have a RAMAIR foam drop-in filter too.

From what I have read, this airbox gives good gains all throughout the powerband. However, would an AEM CAI give the most gains (mostly up top)?
Does the type-s kind of run out of steam at higher rpms? Would this be even more obvious with a higher rev limit?

I've never had a TypeS airbox. But I put on an AEM CAI last summer. Then in the fall I put the stock airbox and tube back on without the resonator chamber and I was impressed with the increase in low end throttle response and torque that returned to my car.

So guys, this intake fits both the 4th Gen AND 5th Gen Ludes without modifications???
Damn you guys are getting good deals on these box's i payed 170 for mine and i had to wait 3 weeks for it to get through customs. But its all good cus it was well worth the money i like it better than the gay *** AEM for the 97-01 ludes!!!
To be honest, I really don't feel any response from my type-s intake. For instance...if somebody were to secret remove the type-s intake and install my puny lil' stock intake, I would never notice the difference. I guess its just a psychological thing that we paid $100+ and we want ourselves to believe that it has tremendous gains? I still like it anyways! Just my .02
