Default Kumho Escata V700 AutoX pressure

Does any1 have suggestions for the new Kumhos at AutoX on an Integra? I have never ran these tyres before. Thanks in advance.

When I bought my ITR, my friend recommended 36 all around, but I've yet to try it.
I'd start at 36 and go from there depending how it feels.

What you friend should have recommended was that you don't start out on R compounds.

Try looking on ITRCA.com in the Auto-x FAQs. I recall they had a decent baseline there.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, since I'm not new to autocross.

I did however, get the previous owners opinion regarding the tire pressure considering they were quite sucessful with the car.

watch your tire temps - too much pressure in the fronts will cause them to chunk up in the middle. I was running 30-32 psi, where the victoracers like 36-38psi.

15x10.5 j/k

Anyway, I ran the Victos for close to 3 years and set them at ~30 cold for track and ~35 cold for AutoX bleeding them down to ~40-42 hot.

I have no idea with the Escatas. Unless some1 tells me otherwise, I will just run them at ~35 and see what happends.

they like much lower hot pressures. I think bookler was running 32-33psi hot last year. I never took my ecstas out on the track, only autocross (32-33 hot was good).

Zsolt, as an initial starting point on my integra, I ran 34 front, 38 rear, but my car was set up a little differently. We still on for a co-drive?

Ahh yes .. but we (yes that means you can co-drive) will be on Escata V700, which AFAIK are a bit different animal then the Victoracer V700s we are used to.

Also, your setup (maybe becuase you also had a different front bar) didn't work too well on my ERS setup. With your pressures, my car would have no front end bite. Oh well. This car will be a learing experience. New tires and unknown suspension. Welcome to DFL I bet.

We will try .RJ's starting pressures are see how she does.

Please don't remind me how much work you have to put into how little driving in AutoX, or I will pull a Ewan and sleep in!

i ran 38-40 hot out front, and 32-35 hot in the back. this is on 15x7, with kumho ecsta 225/45-15's. i arrived at these pressures with a pyrometer.

forgot to add - if you are running a wider wheel, you ought to be able to run more pressure. I am stuffing 225/45/15's on a 15x6" wheel.

36 psi seems to be right around the sweet spot for front pressures wiht the Escta V700s. A little higher gains turn in and loses ultimate grip. A little lower gains grip but loses turn in and raises overall temps. I ended up running around 36-38 hot in the front.

The rear pressures are so influenced by your setup and driving style that it would be hard for anyone to advise where is optimum for your car. I had to make huge changes in rear pressure to get my car close to neutral, like running about 45-48psi, but for what ever reason, my car is very insensitive to rear tire pressure right now.

i also forgot to add that what i said was "cold" temps. We found 33-34psi was good. 36+ and the fronts would chunk in the middle.

I'm not sure what new tire the Kumho Escata V700 or Kumho Escat V700 are. The only ones I've heard of are the Kumho Ecsta V700s and Kumho VictoRacer V700...
