if no, any reason not 2???
type r wheel hub is 64.15mm and centerbore of slipstream wheel is 73.0 or 73.1mm,
with 10mm of play, wheel may not mount in the center.

Yes I use them
Not good having all that weight sitting on the lugs when the majority of weight should be beared on the hub.
This is an argument that could go on forever though. Many people don't use hubcentric rings and get away fine with it. If I were you though, why not spend the extra 10 bucks and get the rings at your local discount tire
Just my .02

I am actually wondering if I need to get some hub-centric rings for my new WORK wheels... but I know NOTHING about them. Are most people with aftermarket wheels using them?

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Can some one please explain what a hub ring is and possibly show a pic?
http://www.seriousauto.com/wheels/sub-zero/ , - theres a pic towards the bottom of the page. itr hub is 64.15mm... you should use hub-centric rings for any wheel larger than 64.15mm

you SHOULD be using them.
basically, your wheel doesn't align on the hub exactly when just using lugnuts to tighten it on. A hub-centric ring does just what the name implies, it fits in the center circle area to properly set the wheel on the hub.
there are cheap plastic ones and then there are better ones (metal). I'll post a picture in a second.

i'm using them.. you definitely need them.. machiii sent me a set after I bought a rim from them.. they were about $15 if I remember correctly.. I have no idea what size they are though.. I told them the car, and the rim, and they figured out the proper one for me..
Yeah our ITR hub is 64.15mm, while the Rotas have a hub bore of 73mm?
Basically the hub is there to keep the weight off the lugs (i.e. hubcentric)
You should not be riding around without them, but to each his own. I would definitely not be riding around without them. I have a plastic set that I picked up from my local discount tire that they threw in for like 5 bucks or so. I don't see why you wouldn't want to spend that extra 5 bucks.
Certain places like the tire rack carry metal ones, which I would prefer to have, but they don't sell them unless you buy a set of their wheels. So as for right now, I'm using plastic ones.
IN other words, just buy the damn things

Is the GSR wheel hub the same size as the ITR?
I have C8's, and was not advised to run hubcentric rings.
Would this be a good idea for a car that sees auto-x and HPDE?
Thanks,
JP

I revently got some hub centric rings for my 98 ITR with Rota SS. The size on the package says : Wheel Bore Size-2.874"/73mm, Vehicle Hub Size- 2.248/57.10. They fit in the rim perfectly, but when I bolted the rim up there was a gap between the rim and rotor that was about 1/4 of an inch wide. I asked my friend if it was suppose to do this and he said that the gap was normal with the hub rings. I thought if the stock rims fit flush against the rotors than these should too right? Well, when I lowered the jack the hub ring snapped and broke off which scared the crap outta me and I ended up taking all rings off. I'm thinking that they were the wrong rings. Can someone tell me how big or even if there is suppose to be a gap with the rings on? Can someone take a pic of how the rim seats with the ring on?
don't know how u managed to fit 57mm ring on 64.15 hub, but if you did, i take it it almost worked as spacer which isn't good.. correct size is 64.15mm
I have a good friend who melted a set of those cheap plastic rings in the first session of a track day in a basically stock ITR.
