How much HP to break into 11's "all moda"
I'm just curious because i'm kinda stuck right now . Should I finish my B16 or would it be better build a LS/VTEC .?
Right now I have
88 Crx HF
b16a w/ S1 tranny
CTR pistons
Teg Type-R maniflod
chipped ECU to whatever
V-AFC (un-tuned)
cam gears (un-tuned)
I/E/H
ran a 13.4@ 100 , just lloking to go faster

about 220 hp will get you at high 11's in a car that is about 2000 lbs. and what is that about scratching rado's car?????

you need about 225whp and up just to get your feet wet in the 11s.... we have a car that runs 11.90@113.9 mph 2200 lbs street car civic hb ALL MOTOR
our race car weights in at 1885 pounds, and we make 268whp and only ran 11.47 @118mph. The tranny set up we had was totally wrong, gears were taller to tall.

yea you will get it down. try a smaller slick and let the motor rev out. or go shorter on the gearing and go taller on the slick. my freinds race car weighs 1750 and he runs 11.20@118mph he is on a mostly stock grunt motor and only makes 222whp.
yeah 220 depending on gearing slick size and driver!
now to hit 10's well that's a different story I know some guy who make more then 260 and still scrapping low 11's makes you wonder huh!

OUr car dynoed in at 185whp and the quickest we ran so far is 11.86@111mph... Then again our car weighs in at about 1750 w/ driver.

My friends crx that weighed 1625 w/driver had a gsr w/ skunk2 ecu,skunk2 intake manifold,dc sports 4-2-1 header,cam gears and he ran a best of 12.16 @ 107 i know it's not 11's but most people said he would have dynoed around 155whp so it gives you an idea. So i guess how much HP is relative to weight of the car

i ran 12.64@106 w/nonvtec ls 2.0.i made 197hp@147ft#.in a 2040#w/driver street driven.it takes alot of motor or a super lite car... i'm try to go 11's this year by taking out over 300#
its strange to look at this stuff from a different perspective. on other forums they talk about traction problems, and lowering gear ratios. hear its about weight to hp, another sight im on is all about "make it turbo".
i think its alot about the driver, and the launch. if you can get a great 60' and pull hard the whole way anything is possible
its also kinda cool to see these cars getting high speeds in the same time slots as american cars. its like the american cars get the jump and the japanese cars catch up later on.
im sorry im just new to this and am amazed at the total difference.

Get used to it. Honda's can't get anyone off the line. Well except maybe those $100,00 beasts rolling in trailors. That's not really a Honda anymore. It's a HOnda engine with extensions weaved in.
I don't understand I put down 193whp this summer at Redline in Texas.
The best my car has hit is 13.4@99mph with 1.8 60ft time, the car weight is 2250 with me in it. Are my slicks to big 24.5-7-13 MT. Our I just suck at the track. Some of your time are good as hell for the whp you guys are putting out.
What the hell am I doing wrong.

My car weight was 2292 with me in it.
The slicks I used were M&H 22x8x13.
I think your slicks are too tall....

for the 12 or 11 second street car do you guys mind telling me what chasis's and mods you guys have, im in the process of building an all motor car too.
We have run 11.7's with only 190 to the wheels in a hf crx, that weighed around 1750...
