Ok, cop stops me Sunday, again, and tells me, again, that the clear tails on my 2k1 Prelude are illegal, not DOT approved, blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda. I haven't actually gotten a ticket yet, but between the clear tails, the white side markers, and the deep highly illegal window tint I'm starting to get harrassed on the regular.

I personally like my tails, as do probably most of the peeps I know. To be perfectly honest, some people can't stand 'em, which is their opinion of course. The possible fines/tickets aren't really that expensive, so I'm willing to eat the future tickets if I really want to keep the tails on the car.

My questions is: Keep 'em on the car or go back to boring old stock? Don't have any pics of the stock tails on the car before I changed them, so if someone does have pics of the 5th gens tails, please post them. Thanks. Flame on...

If you want clear turn signals then remove the anmber chunk like my friend did. Otherwise stock cause your tailights are already nice. Damn if you were in cali you would have been pulled over plenty of times already. If you decide to run clears still then at least get the real red bulbs and not the ones that fade to pink.

 

 

This is the 2nd set of bulbs that I've tried (Polarg, Raybrig) and they still look pink. PIAA's are all that's left...

clears for the 5th gens...they've got to be hard to find.

 

what does you guys think of a teg with clears? i have them on mine (black car), with all LED's for bulbs (cept reverse lights). i've gone back to stock before but then people i know yelled at me to put them back on. i think it looks quite nice when the car is all shined up.

Thanks, but no thanks. I never liked the Altezzas. Besides, I don't have my nomex suit on to protect me from the flames.

It's 11% now, was 20% when I had it done in June. I got stopped by a State Trooper in Aug/Sept, he pulled out his light meter and told me that my driver's side window was 11%. I was told that sunlight would darken it some, but I didn't think it would be that much. I hate to even think of what it is now...
