Trunk rattling (too much bass)
I have four 12" subs in my 96 2dr Integra and the trunk rattles like a ****. I am thinking of buying a couple rolls of Dynomat to layer around my trunk panels and metal etc and get a dynomat Lisence plate border so that doesn't rattle at all etc but I was wondering if there are some tips & tricks for this?
Gonna cost like 300-400 bux for parts and labour for Vader to do it for me (local well known shop for systems in Vancouver, B.C. Canada) and they said that they are not garunteeing a complete un-rattling car in return. And prolly around 100-125$ for 2 rolls of dynomat and a few hours of labour for me and my friends.
Can anyone give me some suggestions on what to do and choose???

Dynamat worked very well in my Civic. The licence plate actually does rattle the most so do that also. I used 2 bulk packs ro my trunk.
go to http://www.b-quiet.com and check into some of there products, ive heard that brownbread is just as good as dynamat, for so much less
If your problem is little rattling parts that can't be found than what you can do is us expanding foam to fill in the empty parts of your trunk to secure the loss parts. Just be careful not to go nuts because it has been known to bulge out a body part a bit.
OK, I got the same problem... My trunk rattles some... Not bad though... I dunno why, cause my system hits hard as hell and hurts when turned up good... I guess its the fiberglass box that sends the sound waves out different being a weird nonrectangular shape or something.....
I am looking for something really cheap to fix my problem.. Dynamat is expensive, plus its not attractive... Is there anything you cna use that wont look like **** when you put it on your trunk... I know why people do the tricked out trunks by putting a hinge on them so they stay up on top of the trunk looking like they are closed... If you dont know what I mean, dont worry... Its a funny mod... Take off the trunk cover from the brackets holding it to the frame of the arms that extend out to all of the trunk to open(dont know what to call them) and put a hinge on the arms and then on the trunk cover so that the trunk cover can rotate once opened so it looks like it is closed but sitting on the top of the trunk... Geez, way off subject....
Anyways, is there anyhting I cna get that will help my rattle problems, look good or not notciable and is under $40.... Dynamat is out the roof...
Honestly, the tag doesnt rattle at all.... I am a cheapo, but smart... I took a noodle and cut it up and taped it to the back of the tag and tigtened the tage really hard.... 50 cent install that works and cannot be seen unlike the GAY dynamat tag covers which look bad and say, look i got a system, come steal it...
NOODLE: One of those foam long circular float things popularized and sold in the late 90's.... They are still around today.... If you dont know what I am talkign about, just get some fairly HARD foam stuff, 1/2" max... And use that... It works...

dynomat will help a good bit but not worth the money. with 4 12's your trunk's going to be rattling anyway. you better be careful though because with that much bass, things start breaking and falling off. i HAD 4 jl w6v2's on 2 memphis 1000's and i rattled nearly everything off, knocked out a taillight, and that broke that back piece above the bumper, so i took all of it out. its just not worth all the bass if you're going to be breaking that much stuff so i put my 2 10's back in. just letting you know my experience

Here's my ghetto tips:
Home Depot. Look in the insulation area, there's a product called "Great Stuff" that's in an aerosol can. It's an expanding foam thing. You spray into little crevices to prevent rattling. But like someone said, it expands so be careful and apply only a SMALL AMOUNT first. Works wonder for under the trunk lid, just spray a little into the brace work, then cut off any excess that may leak out. You can even cover the underside of the lid with some carpet if you like. Keeps it clean.
Secondly, for the rear license plate, get some thick double sided tape. Apply it to the ENTIRE rear surface of the plate. Then just put it back on.
Also, under the rear deck is a problem area. It's basically a long sheetmetal piece with holes in it for the speakers. You can brace it with 1/4" MDF screwed underneath.
