add power steering to a 92-95 cx/vx/ or dx.
What parts would you need to install Power steering on a 92-95 hatch cx, vx, or dx? I know you'll need 1) Power Steering Rack and Pinion ($?) 2.) PS Pump ($?) 3.) PS reservoir 4.) PS bracket 5.) PS Lines ($?) 6.) PS belt ($?). I know the price on one of the items. If anyone knows the prices for the other items or knows anything im missing please reply. And how much would labor cost approximately? (rough estimate) Thanx a lot.
Oh i forgot to mention that the PS is going to be for a Dual Cam B series motor thats why i want PS. And about the parts such as the brackets and pump and stuff do i get those off a civic or integra? thanx

I have power steering in my ex. and if you lived closer (ct) I'd swap mine for yours...
The honda P/S is actually really good I just want to take strain off the crank as possible and I don't want to run a p/s rack without the pump hooked up. So I gots to wait till I swap it.
I like the feel of manual steering more. If I were you I'd stick with what you got.
But if you don't care what I think...
You need the p/s pump and all lines a new crank pulley with a slot for P/s the rack and the rack mounting hardware (the p/s rack has an extra mount point). I think that's it but you may need to change the column but I don't think so.

he dosent care if u like power steering or not he didnt ask if you liek it or not. He dosent want any answers that dont have to do with what he is asking for. He dosent care if you like it or not he didnt ask if you liked it or not. And dont try to encourage him not to get it just because you like it manual. So if you dont have his answer then dont reply!

I think this would be the easiest way. Just get a 92 si steering rack and all the hoses and pump etc. You can get it from a wreaking yard or just look in the classifieds here they all think its better not to have power steering. Wrong!!! Its makes it easier to control you car. Do some autox and you all will understand what I mean.
ya i know i can find it on honda-tech but if im goign to swap a dual cam b series motor in there prolly a gsr or a type r i need a bracket, pump, pulley, mount from what car?
It may be necessary to swap the rear cross member. On the 4th Gen it IS necessary. I have done two and find that parking lots and city driving are a breeze. Yea, you probably scrafice some feel but not much. Find a donor car of the same year (LX) that has pwr steering and take it all. be sure to get the pwr steering bracket taht goes on the engine, the cooler which is in front of the radiator, the reservior, the high pressure hose and the two return hoses. BTW it is easiest to remove the rack/crossmember as a unit so the hose holders (on the cross member) do not get broken trying to remove.
I just took the power steering out of my car. Left the power rack for best ratio though. I'll sell you the mounting bracket, pump, lines, and belt for super cheap if you pay shipping. IM me
Yes, all that and you will need to get the harness plug and wiring for the PS pressure sensor as well. I'm not sure if this is absolutely necessary but the ECU does use that signal to blip the idle up slightly when it detects load.
I would also highly recommend the GSR or ITR PS rack. It has a faster ratio than any Civic PS rack. YES, I can tell a difference and YES it does make the car easier to control in tight driving situations. I don't really care what other people think . I feel its worth the slightly higher weight and SLIGHT power loss.

I put power steering on my 93 cx with gsr swap. I used all parts off a 94 civic ex (rack, hoses, brackets etc). The pumps and pump bracket on motor are different for each motor (if using gsr motor use gsr pump and bracket, ls use ls pump and bracket). Your civic hoses will bolt to whatever pump you use. There is no need to try to wire PS pressure sensor, my car ran fine with out it.
