Default Looking for member who made a custom pair of si style tail lights for his civic

There was someone on here who posted pictures of their civic. It was blue and If im not mistaken had an h22 with nitrous and maybe even a turbo. The car had a body kit and a customozed pair of si tails made from clear tails. If you are that member please tell me because I wanna know how to do that, or if you know who im talking about tell me. If you don't know who this guy is and know how to do this tell me! If there is anyway I can check all my posts, not recent tell me. Thanks

is this it?its a b16a3,clears with ruby red transparent paint on top, then clear coated over the whole thing, then wiring and bulbs reversed to make it look like newer si tailights.

go to wal mart, go to the model car section by the toys. buy testors candy apple red paint and some of the clear coat paint. Mask off the part you don/t want red. Do light coats, don't even worry about the first one covering the whole lense. 3 coats should do it, let dry between coats. then take off the masking and spray the whole thing evenly with the clear coat, 2 coats should do it.

Tah dah.

heh, actually not my car, i just did mine as well. i got mine already looking like si, so i took the outer lens and did the whole thing red. it looks different then the blue civic. I don't currently have a pic, and i did not change my harnesses around. and if you do yours like the ones above, you should only have to find orange bulbs for the lower outer part and no changes the harnesses around.

i swapped mine out for 00' si tails and you cannot get an orange colored bulb to fit the bottom...its stupid.

i painted mine, heh...just the turn signals so they dont get too much use or get too hot.

the blue car is mine.you do have to change the harness around, thats a 95 civic, normally the red is on the bottom and not the top, oppisite of the 00 si.the reverse lights are on the top,now they are on the bottom, its easy to switch around all the wiring, most of them just pug up in the other holes, you have to unscrew a few things but its pretty easy.

painting them is pretty easy also, you need testors model paint, some masking tape and testers clear coat.make sure you use a good cleaner and wipe them down first, that will help make the paint stick and keep it from getting fisheyes in the paint.
then mask off your bottom section, spray about 3 coats of red on the top part, let them dry at least 15 minutes in between each coat, then remove your tape, and spary with clear, let that dry for at least one day before handling them, use about 2-3 coats of clear.
its a good ideal to do all your wiring first, that away your not having to handle the things alot after you paint them.
this was actually my second set like this, after a while the clear will start to flake and turn a light yellow color,in this case you have to claen them up,use some 2000 grit sandpaper, sand a bit, then re apply your paint, once the clear is added the sanmarks go away,i just sold my first set on e bay.
anotyher thing to remeber, your reverse lights are going to get alot more dim too, becasue now they will not be shining through clear plastic, its no biggy,i havnt killed any one yet, lol.i like the way they lok and it matches my paint .

if you are talking about the amber bulb for the turn signals then yes you can in fact get those bulbs,..APC brand bulbs,...i know because i swapped both my hatchback's taillights out for 99-00 tails,..i went looking and looking,..and i found some in the APC section at pepboys (please do not ask why i was in the APC section,..i swear it was only to look for the bulbs )

they must be talking about 96 + civics, you MUST reverse the harness for the 92-95 civic, the brake lights are 2 fillimet lights and have 3 wires going to them, the blinkers only have 2 wires going to them, and the reverse lights are all different,i think they thought my car was 96+ and thats were the confusion came from.

Hey Kingpin

You collect Blotter Art? I know a guy in Houston who does. I own a bunch of it. In fact that is my picture you are using for your avatar.

I paint parts for people on a regular basis. If you are willing to ship them to me I can do them for cheap. If you have clears, I can do the half clear / half red or all red with clear reverse lights. If you have the stock tail lights, I can do them all red with clear reverse lights too. I also do valve covers and interior pieces as well. Send me an email if you're interested.

Will 96-00 tails not fit? Because if they would, I could just buy them and reverse the harness. Or are there any models that are allready red on clear that I could just reverse the harness?
