Default Osaka = shitty

Just wanted to inform you guys not to buy any swaps from Osaka Motors. I recently got a B16 sir2 swap from them and they were very hard to get ahold of. When i finally got around to purchasing the motor from them, they sent me the wrong billing info so they didnt actually get my money until about a week later. A few days later they shipped my motor. When it arrived they had left out many parts that they had promised would be included with the swap and their response to this was "we will sell you the parts you need for an extra 200 bucks". I had no real problem with this until i got the axles and shift linkage. The linkage was fine but the axles were for the wrong swap and the boots were shreaded and leaking grease all over the packaging. I had to go out and get some new remanufactured axles from Autozone. We put the engine in my car and it runs pretty good but the transmission that they sent me is not what i paid for. I got an LSD transmission from them and one of the gears on the LSD is fucked so it makes this grinding noise everytime i turn the wheel to the left or right. I called them to ask what could be done about this and they just handed me a big load of BS and basically told me that I would need to buy another transmission from them. Their customer service is something that needs to be greatly improved. I will never buy another part from these people. I wrote this post as a warning to others out there who are thinking of buying a swap from Osaka. There is a chance that you will get what you paid for and more but there is also a chance that you will get something broken which they will do nothing about unless you have the money to buy the stuff from them. I know some of you are going to respond to this post by stating that its tough luck and things of that sort, but if a new company comes out and tries to get good business, they should not sell faulty parts to people and then become their worst enemy when the customers come back complaining. Anyways im done. Say what you like but just dont get a swap from these crooks

yeah thanks for the piont of view, im looking into buying a ek hatch and a b18c1 but not from
them now, with hmotorsonline steve will attempt to make up for his mistakes and actually is half-
way professional about it. but if they sent you broken **** then tried to sell you better ones thats
just **** in my book. just my $.02.

B16hatch: Please email me at gtg095a@prism.gatech.edu. You are the latest in a long string of H-T.com who have gotten shafted by Osaka. Please contact me via email, me and other dissatisfied customers are trying to have Osaka's sponsorship of the site stopped

has anyone had experience with passwordjdm for swaps? their prices are comparable to osaka and its for a "complete" swap including axles and linkage.

I tried ordering a b16 from them today and I got alittle spooked when he took my credit card number over the phone then told me to send my billing information by fax including my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER and 5 minutes later getting a call from the fraud department of my credit company making sure that the transaction was legit. Now what I understand is why they stated on their website that credit cards will not be billed until the order is shipped but 5 minutes after the order was placed, they were seeking payment without the order being shipped or even having my billing information? All I can say is, that is a bad way to do business.

This sucks, i was really hoping Osaka cleaned up by now.
I guess the extra $500 HMO is charging for the B18C-R will be worth it. Kamin's recent story on HMO really made me consider HMO.

i got my swap from osaka......if i could do it again i'd go HMO.....just because it's a more complete swap....axles and linkage.....my swap was missing a mount and bolt for the rear mount.....and none of my d-series mount bolts work for it....i haven't installed the motor yet, but at least it has LSD like i asked for. Go HMO or even better go IAS......that's what i should have done i only live 3 hours from there....so no shipping.

they prob wont cut you a deal if you want them to leave out parts. They will still more than likely charge you full price.

When I asked Joe for a new transmition his exact words were "No I wont do that, if you want a new transmition you will have to pay full price" Oh and to top it off he also had the nerve to tell me that I was wasting his time and other costomers were waiting on the other line.(hows that for customer service?) I said to him "I feel bad for those people doing business with your sorry ***!! And I hung up the phone. If you were thinking of doing business with Osaka you better change your mind fast. Take it from me

I even told joe I woulld ship the faulty LSD to him if he ships me a new LSD to me. He said "no I got to go" WTF!!!!

i think it's just comparable to the volume of engines the company sells. the more you sell, the more likely you are to get a few bad orders.

if you look at osaka, all the negative things being said were due to their last manager who wilfully shipped incomplete engines, and didn't think anything of it... bad move! and cuz of his stupidity, he's now gone and Osaka is attempting to regain confidence from everyone.

Osaka will have every negative situation resolved, its only a matter of time, I can assure you that!

It's not possible for Osaka to correct all their wrongs, it;s not gonna happen. Once you get your name tainted people don't forget that.
