Default Been busy

As some of you may know I've slowly been building an F22b1.

This wkend kinda put me well into the finishing stages. It started with the machine shop friday. Asked them about balancing internals and they said they had to have the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. Well I only have one ACT and UR flywheel so....

Heres whats going in

All new bearings are in and plasti gauged. New oil pump. New water pump. New timing belts, tensioners, and pulleys.

For the balancing they needed the pistons, wrist pins, retaining clips, rods w/bolts, crank, crank pulley w/key, flywheel, clutch disc, and pressure plate w/ bolts. $120 to balance everything. Bad new is hes got two race engines in front of mine so itll be a week or so.

Just an update for those who are interested.

Sweet. If you do it right you might be one of the few people Morgan respects.

The block was honed to the piston size by GE.

I personally filed all the rings (top .020", mid .015").

All rod and main bearings (new) plastigauged and within spec.

Crank end play <.001" and journals micropolished by me.

So kind of.

Its a quaife.

Goal is to make it run. First build for me.

Seriously...dont think the t3/to4b will put out more than 350 but want 300whp to start.

Need to get it running first.

IMO 300WHP is a lot, i guess it would be a good average between power and reliability for that engine, BTW what are you going to do with the balance shaft? take it off?

anyway, Good luck

300 WHP with correctly tuned setup seems feasible and it should be sturdy enough to handle some boost

a goal of getting it to run first is a very sensible and logical one

I'm <50 hp away from 300 with the stock block. I not only think its feasible, it'll be a starting point.

I'll run out of turbo before the engine has any problem.

Are you using a OEM type turbo manifold/exhaust manifold gasket?

Yeah, reused the stock one. I put antiseize on the nuts and some of them were backing out on me looks like. Never heard any leaks or had trouble with building boost.

looking faster and faster

so what engine do you have in the CL right now? the stock one, or did you buy another fmax kit?

i wish you would post this on a-cl so you could get peoples minds off gauges and exhaust for a quick second.

edit: nevermind....... i see the built block sitting in the box.
