New Goodies for the ZC (sohc vtec) :)
since the SRR 4.9 FD didn't work with the VTi LSD tranny, SRR took it back and offered me some other products of theirs to try out. the quality is excellent

if you want i could take that off your hands for you, i wish i had the money for it!
the motor will stay N/A for the few months (during winter) then possibly homemade turbo kit or wild N/A build up with p29 pistons/ crower stageIII (going for 150+whp)

ok. u guys are my mentors on my single cam n/a buildup.... getting sohcvtec head on d16y7 block.... bolt ons... gonna save for d16a1 pistons and stuff. should be done at a later time.... nice job wiht the new stuff! good luck. let us know how it turns out
actually funny you mention the JUN flywheel. as much of the stuff SRR sells is actually made but other reputable companies.
ie. their clutches are Exedy
flywheels are also relabbled Japanese made units.
SOHC can be fun and cheap and once it blows, its only 200-400 to get another one.

It works awesome! The y8 head gasket i used so i could put on the z6 head was $37, thats like 1/5 the price of the motor! haha Not to mention the new oil filter added $6.BIG SPENDER!

What's the difference between the ZC sohc and d16z6? I always thought
the ZC was DOHC. Did yo guys just swap to a SOHC head?
the ZC was DOHC. Did yo guys just swap to a SOHC head?
this includes the well known, ZC DOHC, ZC sohc (FI and carb - three generation - d16a6/d16y7 versions), ZC SOHC VTEC
its not really possible to swap a SOHC head into a DOHC ZC block (it just doesn't really line up)
my motor comes from Domani Vi

ZC refers to 88-00 motors which are d-series and 1.6l in displacement.

Ive seen a guy that modified a y7 block to work with a DOHC ZC head..he had to redrill one of the head bolts to make it fit. I dont think i would do anything like this as i would be scared for straight of the bolt. But it is possible. But ya..they dont fit without modification!

The most common ZC motors are the 88-91 DOHC and 88-91 SOHC. The 88-91 SOHC ZC is a d16a6. I have a 88-91 ZC (d16a6) and then swapped a z6 head (ala mini-me).

i know what you're saying all that trouble. its just easier to use a sohc block and drop some P29/PM7 pistons to get that c/r up.

p29/pm7.... whats that from? which engine? year..... etc... and how much CR would it give on an engine.... give examples if possible.... sorry if im asking too much. thanks in advance....
