Just like it says, I've seen a number of cars on here with, say, a black engine bay and a different color exterior. TIA

 

found one, this is what i'm looking for.. anyone have more pics of another car like this? i want to do the same thing but to a white car. opinions?

Personally, I think the black engine bay is a very clean idea, plus it looks awesome.....mmmm......clean

paint the engine bay damnit! I mean yeah, exterior will look nice, but personally if i had a car with a different color engine bay i would be pretty pissed everytime i opened the hood. I know everyone doesn't have the money/time to pull their engine and paint the engine bay, but if you can spare some time and a bit of cash I honestly think it makes a big difference in the appreance and overall craftsmanship of the entire car.

 

black engine bays always look clean. other engine bays get dirty too easy

 

its not so much the money, its more the labor to go and take everything out, since the paint job is going to be performed between me and a friend.

black engine bays serve a purpose other than looks. it acts like a certain kind of heater core extracting heat away from the motor and onto the actual body itself.

How does that work? I think you've got the wrong idea. Just because black absorbs more light than other colors, doesn't mean that black absorbs heat. *shrug* prove me wrong.

it's not going to be a noticable decrease in heat.

JUst make sure when you paint it black, to actually do a good job. IMO it would look worse to have a poorly painted blacj bay then to have a perfectly painted original bay. JUst use some single stage urethane semi flat black.

 

uh...what if the ppl's cars were black, and then they painted their car another color and didn.t have the money to paint the engine bay??? is that too far-fetched of an idea!?

 

Not an integra, but here you go. I think it flows better with the motor.

Black engine bays are nice, but if you had a white car, wouldn't you have to take the engine out to paint the engine bay anyway?
