anyone know the d16a6 piston to dome height?
Im looking into bumping up my comp soon and i wanna know the piston to dome height so i can use that spiffy c-speed comp calc... Here's what i've got so far
Combustion chamber = 38cc
Bore = 75 mm
Stroke = 90 mm
OEM 3 layer Gasket = 0.0290 (im actually going to be using the y8 gasket so any corrections will be gratefully appreciated)
So now i just need the piston to deck height, and i can't afford and don't have the tools to pull of my head and figure it out as this time. Thanks

Re: anyone know the d16a6 piston to dome height? (exospeedAMcrx)
im looking at various combos and making a judgement call from there, so not necessarily pct pistons but possibly...I found on d-series.org someone said the combustion chamber of the d-series is something like 32.8 cc not 38...if thats the case the compression is around 14.00:1 thats wicked sweet

A work in progress. All the default values are for a stock D16A6. 1 inch = 25.4 mm.
32.8 cc's corresponds only to the Y5 and Y8 heads in the US. Z6 head volume is 34.6 cc's

Also, the A6's Head Chamber Volume is 38 cc's.
chasrex is correct on the Z6 and Y5,Y8 heads.
EDIT: Shoot..you already mentioned it in your first post! Oups!

Since you want to raise your comp in your A6, I'd suggest A1 pistons and maybe a 92-95 si head gasket.
CR with A6 gasket and A1 pistons = 11.35 CR and 1590.61 Displacement
CR with Z6 or Y8 gasket and A1 pistons = 11.67 CR and 1590.61 Displacement
I'll be doing this setup in the near future along with cams. I'm saving up for it now! Hope this helps!

What about stock D16A6 pistons with the D16Y8 head gasket?
