Problems with Corbeau 3pt. Harness
I just installed my harness and the lap belt is very very loose even when I tightened it all the way. Do any of you guys have the same problem and is there any way to fix it?
Well I used the stock mounting points. One eyebolt to the driver's right side (where the buckle is), another eyebolt to the bottom left of the drivers side (where the stock seat belt is bolted on) and the last eye bolt was installed on the left side of the passenger backseat (the top point of the stock seat belt).
Well I sell the Corbeau harness and the seats. I have noticed this befor. When I installed a 4 point in my car I had the same type of problem, I was not able to get the harness tight enough, when i did the belt was not centered. Well I did some resurch. What I ended up doing it mounting the righthand side of the belt to a hole in the tunnel in the center of the car back almost to the rear seat. If you do this there are a few things that I recommend.
1: Make sure when you are drilling you do not hit the fuel lines under the car
2: When you mount the bolt also put the biggest washers you can find on either side of the metal of the car (one on the bottom of the car and one on the cabin side) The reason for this is to renforce the metal so in a crash the belt bolt does come through the metal. The best thing to do instead of washers is to weld a small steel plate on the underside and then mount the bolt through that. That is the strongest way. If you want any pic or any more help e-mail me

As a Corbeau dealer myself, I recommend contacting Corbeau directly at info@corbeau.com. Their customer service is 2nd to none and if you tell them what car you have, they may have additional tips to help you out. The suggestions posted above are helpful also.
