Default Just talked to Osaka!

Ok well i just got an email back from an engine inquiry. As you know, there was a post on here that was trying to give Osaka a bad rep from a couple complaints they had. I have always known Osaka to be a very respectable company who cares about their customers and the reply i just got from them insured this. I talked to the sales representative and heres what he had to say

"Hello, at the present moment we have not been on the boards selling
really cause we are resolving the matters that have come to our
attention internally, our manager is the one that picks and makes sure
the engine is complete but when we started hearing all this **** on the
forums we had to track where the problem is, so anyways to make a long
story short we are letting the manager go, well I am not I am only sales
but my boss is letting him go. That's where I will play my part from
now when he is gone, since I deal with the customers my boss thought it
might better if I start to choose and package the motors that sell
through the internet, but as for making you feel better, Osaka started
off great then these little problems started, and we are taking care of
it, everything will be said and done by the 26 of dec."

I plan to purchase a complete swap from them in January and i have no doubt in my mind that i will be very pleased when i get the motor. Osaka is my # 1 choice because of their lowest prices and their customer staisfaction!Osaka: I hope that all of your problems are resloved and I look forward to talking to you in January!

Well maybe he was the manager who is getting fired. All I am saying is that they are resolving their problems. Every company has some complaints, but if you compare them to all of the satisfied customers they are still the best place to buy motors.

Ask B19CivicHB about Osaka and their "quality" merchandise. A month before they took on the Osaka name, the company sold him a JDM GSR swap with bent connecting rods, internal water damage, no axles/mounts/miscellaneous parts, shift-linkage, etc. They wouldn't send him anything that he was missing, even after he sent a legal document to the Better Business Bureau. He ended up paying for new internals, new connecting rods, cleaning, balancing/blueprinting, overbore to get rid of the rust and other detritus inside the cylinders, etc.

I'll never purchase anything from them.

Indeed. This was my post from when I was dealing with it all.

Seemed like a legit place back in september when i bought a swap from them. JDM GSR engine. Got the swap 2 weeks later. Missing axles, engine mounts. Opened up the engine to find a bent #1 connecting rod. Wiring harness had been submerged in water. Basically it was a total nightmare and he refused to replace any parts reassuring me that the engine would "run perfect once installed" even though i mentioned the bent connecting rod.

A few pictures to share the pain...

Bent Rod:

Gouges out of block from connecting rod:

Corroded Cylinder wall:

It gave me an excuse to rebuild the bottom end but has delayed the swap for over 10 months..."

When I recently looked at my shipping receipt from October, it said the engine was shipped from Osaka Japanese Motors in Canada. I dealt with a Mr Ismael Desjarlais. If he is the one at Osaka... watch out and PRAY that your engine comes in tact and run-able. He would NOT even begin to talk about compensation for the BENT CONNECTING ROD! that my engine came with. Im getting all worked up just talking about it.

Although I cant vouch for them now, back then it was horrible.

listen guys that wasnt their fault you can put the blame on the manager that they fired recently. As for Osaka, they are a great company and they WONT **** you over on anything. If its broken, theyll fix it. They just had a little problem with someone on the inside, but problem solved dont worry about getting bad products from them. believe i would know.... i talked to mark all the time. just tell him H22a type s Chris from PA sent you.

Well, I have been trying to get the downpipe that I was told would be included with my swap for 2 weeks now. They have sworn over and over again that they would rectify the problem, but I have yet to see any results.

Gouges were superficial. Nothing that affected performance or reliability. The machine shop smoothed them over when the honed the cylinder walls but nothing more.
