COMPLETELY off topic, but I'm so happy I don't care!
As some of you know, apart from racing my other major hobby is theater. No, I'm not gay. Anyway, since I started doing musicals back about 13 years ago, my dream role has always been Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. Yes, the part Rick Moranis played in the movie version. Well tonight I just got a phone call from the director of Little Shop of Horrors at one of the semi-local community theater groups telling me that he cast me as Seymour! I'm so psyched!!! Oh, and my Audrey (the girl lead, and Seymour's love interest) is REALLY hot! Life is good.
The show goes up in March if any of you want to come see it. It would be fun having some of you guys there. And yes, I did tell the director that I need Valentine's weekend off so I can go to VIR.

Matt,
When I was in High School I Wrestled, played Football, raced motorcycles, and partied. I didn't do speech or drama. I thought they were somewhere between gay and too weird. Now I think it would be great fun, and wish I'd been mature and secure enough to have fit them in too somehow. Congratulations! I hope you have alot of fun.
Scott, who plays a writer/driver/engineer on the internet....it's ok I guess....

lol, this is waaay off topic indeed. i once had the lead in a 3rd grade play called "super duper man" (and no, i'm not gay either!
) and forgot some lines midway through the play.
in any case, i hope this does not happen to you, and congratulations!

BTW John. You have to keep Chicken Dance Elmo until Christmas.
I'll be sure to repay you for your kindness and consideration some day.
Good luck Matt!
Congrats Matt. Not that I can act or sing or anything, but most of my friends were involved in theater in some capacity whether they were techs, crew or actors and were all rather shocked they couldn't get me into set production, since I seem to have some ability to build/design things... I do recall that a friend in Blacksburg was involved in a Little Shop production a few years ago. They used a robotic Audrey. Apparently it was malfunctioning during the dress rehearsal, and had to be human-operated on opening night for fear of the device "eating" an actor at an inopportune time.

My bad. Yes, Audrey II is correct. Whoops.
Good thing you were checking out Audrey, and not Audrey II. Those sexy ficus trees might get jealous.

That could be the funniest thing ever written on this board.

In before the first "Feed Me, Seymour"!
A dude who was in high school productions with my brother 25 years ago ended up getting a gig as an MTV VJ out of it. Who knows, we may end up racing with another actor - PL Newman, the littlest kid from the Partridge Family, Lorenzo Lamas (OK, not really an actor)...
Congratulations!

Congrats Matt!
If I ever lose my current job, I would definitely go back to school for piano performance. It's my passion. Well, after being damned with meeting Shultz, it's my passion next to racing. Just kidding Karl
Hmm...one is much cheaper than the other, too! The arts 0wn!!!

who doesn't know why anyone would associate theatre with homosexuality

Matt~ Congrats on getting your "dream" part! And thanks sharing a bit more about yourself than is typically done around here.

Congrats! Except for the part about sticking the "Suddenly Seymour" song in my head.

See, some of you guys get it... Theater is the single best hobby for heterosexual men. For a normal show, the girl/guy ratio is about 3 to 1, BUT the girl/straight guy ratio is more like 6 to 1! It's like shooting fish in a barrel! Theater rules!!!
