thinking of swappign a h22a into a integra rs good idea?
never really see this done a whole lot, i can get a jdm h22a for a fairly good deal.. complete swap for 1800. and theres a rs integra for sale near my house for real real cheap.. but i was wondering if i pick up the rs and the motor will the h22a just drop right in the 94 teg rs?i will need some new hasport mounts and what else for the swap besides new wires plugs, clutch and all.also i would think a h22a in a integra would run a quicker time i an teg than a gsr right?with the same hp as a itr and more torque it should be close to a itr 1/4 am i correct? anyways if anyone has done this or know much about this swap let me know.thanks, Randy
also how much heavier is the h22a by itself than the b18c1 by itself?an how would the handling be on this prob wont be the best for an autocross.anyways any info. on this that you got let me know , thanks again.
depends what your going for. if you want speed then yes its a good swap. it will be faster than an itr i would imagine. costs will run a bit higher due to other misc expenses such as the mounts and what not.
not your best candidate for an autox or track (non drag) use, cuz of the weight. it will make the tegs 64/36 wieght distribution more like 70/30, your braking power will be reduced also.
but hey if you want straight line speed its good. plus its not like the cars handling will die, it just wont be as good.

how much you thing it will run altogether beside the basic jdm h22a complete swap for 1800(no shipping needed)and then like 450 for a new clutch right.. 250 for the mounts? am i correct. is that all i will need?so basically i get the power of a type r, for half the cost, but sacrafice handling ,correct?well for 2000 less i think its a good deal.
i've talked to people with h22a swaps in there integra before. most if not all of them were happy with there swaps. non of them are really into auto-xing so loosing a bit of handling was not an issue with them. if your looking for speed, then i would do it especially for the price your getting it for. if your more into auto-x or whipping around the corners at high speeds i would try to steer away from the swap. keep in mind the car doesn't handle like crap by any means. they all said it still handles great. just not as nimble as it used to be. think about what you want for your car then you'll know if it is a good choice for you or not. later

as you mentioned above -- yes you will get the power of a type r, and ah, you will also have torque.
but i couldnt deal with sacrificing my handling.

yup...suspension upgrades will help your handling... With an h22 in your integra, you can get your car to handle a lot better than a stock type r.... You can run a type r rear sway bar with the bsq mounting kit and run jimfab front and rear strut bars. Run koni yellows for struts and eibach or suspension techniques springs for handling too. Dont get springs that lower the car more than 1.8 inches or else your oil pan and headers will scrape.... I am running a similar setup in my teg, i just need the strut bars and sway bar which i will be getting for chrsitmas. If you havent been going to the gym lately, the hasport power steering mount would be a good idea so you can have power steering. If you really want to go overboard, you can relocate your battery to the trunk and get a carbon fiber or aluminium hood. This will offset the extra 80lbs the h22 added to your front end or you can think of it as the weight of a b-series plus a turbo kit
2.2 tegs are sick buy you need to get different axles and shift linkage plus some mounts.
make it happen, torque is under rated!

Why not just build the B18B that's already in the car? For the money you'll spend on that swap and mounts and getting it put in, you could be boosted. I think the darkside is better. I'd rather have a turbo B18B than a H22A, but that's just my opinion.
well its a 94 rs integra for $3750. pretty damn good deal. i can sell the motor to a buddy right now and he'll give me $1000 for the stock b18b motor with 130k. so after i sell the motor i will have only spent 2750 on a 94 integ. not too bad. then the motor will cost me 1800 for the complete motor swap. parts i figure i will need are:
-motor $1800
-clutch $400
-hasport mount kit $250
-USDM h22a shiftlinkage $100
but i believe thats it... $2550 and its a complete swap that should last a long time.and also i already had a boosted car and i had a bad experience with it cause i didnt know what i was doing back then, but sense that motor got messed up i dont wanna take another chance on another $3000 turbo setup on a motor and have both the motor and the kit money wasted.much safer just to get a faster stock motor like a b18c5 or the h22a.
i already got a 95 gsr that runs great and looks good and is what i drive exeryday so this would just be a second ride.

I did it...in a 94 teg gsr 4door......Ill tell you everything u need to know.... with that you would need $500 hasport mounts 90 to 93 teg axels witch run bout $100 umm pending on how good the h22 "swap" is u might get shift linkage and there is little stuff like a resister pack for the injectiors. and the hole in the floor to put the cables up through....u would need a 90 to 93 accord fuel rail (unless custum line) and accord intermedate-shaft but other then that? it is as little of running a few wires! It is fast... i am also running a zex system...it is much better then my b18c1 its like riden a 250 dirt bike instead of a 125...a 125 is still fast but u have to try a hell alot harder... and ques shoot an email! here is a pic http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...page_id=271596

Is that everything i will need for a jdm h22a? what if i go with a us spec h22a, is there less i would have to buy?

misc stuff
Custom Radiator
Custom Radiator Fan
Custom Welding of Catalyst
90-97 Accord Shift Linkage, all lines running up to cabin
97-00 Prelude Power Steering Line
also...doesnt this motor sit lower that the normal b series??? if so its gonna suck *** if u have a 2in drop..lol..your nice header is gonna b f'ed up...imo all that money just to get that motor in is a waste...just stick with a gsr motor all call it a day.
