I hope they get their heads out of their corporate asses pretty soon. Everyone is going turbo and what does Honda give us? - a 160hp Stream mini-van with two doors and the rear seat missing. This is supposed to compete in the American marketplace against the upcoming 215hp turbo Dodge Neon with 7 yr. factory warranty, at the same price?
If you want to see what they are thinking about making:

There are many good reasons for why they have developed their cars for better milage.
Aside from all that "green car horseshit". In countries other than yours like where im from, in Australia fuel is damn expansive and so is Japans.
New 2003 Hondas look ok!

.....put me down for one too.....
You see? There is enough market here to employ a new small line of race insprired hondas, if they only knew what we wanted. Or maybe we just want to take econo-boxes amd make them sport-like.
....I actually think that a new CRX would hurt sales for the civic SI hatch, and the RSX base and S models. I already think that the strictly honda/acura buyer will pass up the civic SI hatch for the more generally accepted RSX base model. Both cars have the same drivetrain, they cost about the same, and you get all the nice luxuries and the peice of mind with the Acura.
Man I have nothing against the new SI, but damn, they cannot sell them here in New Orleans. There must be the same 15 or so of them at the dealership that were brought here in june. I know this isnt a SI bash forum, I am just speaking about Honda sales issues. THats all they would need is another small medioker "race type" car to throw off american sales, despite how much I would love to see a new CRX.
.......my $.02

IMHO, they are slipping further behind the curve all the time with all this 'green car' horsesh!t that they have been promoting lately. Nobody gives a flying f*ck about better gas mileage, alt. fuels or recycleable car parts.
I hope they get their heads out of their corporate asses pretty soon.

Who's your daddy? Hoosier daddy!![Modified by House of Boost, 3:44 PM 12/9/2002]
Dude, that car looks awesome. And if the info on that link is true, the power to weight ratio would be pretty impressive.
I've never seen that before but I always thought of the Honda Insight as a new age CRX with a rear tire over fender, but I think that drawing of the new CRX looks good.
Oh really? Well, it's working pretty damn good considering that while most Japanese car companies are being bought (in part or in full) by US companies, Honda manages to not only stay on their own, but they're SELLING ENGINES TO GM!!! Green bullshit or not, do what works, and by god, it works.
THeir buisness plan is brilliant! Make a car that sells and appeals to the masses, not a special interest group that's finickey at best and only encompasses 5% of the market.
i do feel that cars like the new si are not being designed in the way they originally were...the si is supposed to be a sporty, somewhat limited edition vehicle targetted at thsoe who want more out of their cars
while i agree they can't please everyone... i think they could have done a better job getting the car to at least be close competition to the rivals
"Honda has several concept cars on the drawing boards right now,"
out of all the concept cars Honda has...why the ******* Element??? its a shoe box on wheels

Well **** even if they made the crx an ecno mobile id still get one, as long as it is compatible with the k20, **** a new hybrid swap, im all for it...new swaps are what make honda tuning fun CRX
