Default Changing gears in LS S1 trans

So I'm pretty sure I got screwed when I bought my swap and ended up recieving an S1 trans from an LS instead of the S1 from a JDM car. I haven't taken the trans apart yet to count teeth but I would like to know what my options are as far as changing the gearset in this trans. I would like the gearing to be closer to the 92-93 GSR gearing but I would like to keep my fifth gear ratio for highway cruising.

Can I use the gears from the 92-93 GSR trans? If not what are my other options? Where can I find more about what gears I can use?

I'm not 100% sure but i'm pretty sure that if you get gears from a jdm s1 they will swap over!!

I'd rather get a usdm gearset. Anybody else?

It all depends what year the S1 is. If its 90-91, then you are pretty much fubared. If its 92-93 (and I'm not even sure there were any LS S1s from 92-93), then you can swap over the parts.

What makes you think that you got screwed?
92-93 LS and GSR have the YS1 code.

I'm trapping over 102 mph in the 1/4 mile and I'm only just needing to shift into 4th gear to as I'm passing through the finish.

My bro shifts into 4th near the end of the quarter with his JDM S1. He's going 96 mph.

How do you tell which trans is which? 90-91 v. 92-93?

according to this gear ratio calculator with a jdm S1 trans, using 24 inch drag radials and an 8500 rpm redline my maximum speed would still be 97.4 mph in third gear. I have trapped 104 mph and there is no way that i picked up 9 mph in the last 50 ft of the 1/4 mile.
