How do you acquire the radio code for a factory Acura radio?
I upgraded my GSR's cd/tape combo with an aftermarket headunit, I later sold the factory unit without thinking about finding out the code for it. How do I get the code? Would an Acura dealer know? If so, what information would they need from me to prove that this is the deck that came out of my car? I bought my car used, and I'm not sure of the procedures on this situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Pull out your ashtray and look at the bottom of it. I know sometimes they put a sticker on there w/ the radio code, or sometimes in the Owners manual.
There is a stick on the inside cover of my manual with a 5-digit number, and under it is the letters "NG" and another 5-digit number. Is this the sticker?
You must have the SN of the radio & sometimes the Vin# of the car to obtain the code information from the dealer. Also, check yuor owners manual or dealers service book for the code card. Just to let you know, some dealers are charging customers to release their radio code info.

try this sit on ur car driver side then open the glove compartment, with the glove open look at the side of ur glove box there should be a five digit number there...this is ur security code for ur stock player..
If all else fails, you might have to do what I did when I bought my Teg. You have to find the dealership it was bought at brand new. Then you give them your VIN # and they will give you the code.

I don't see why you would need the code if you already sold the factory unit..
just wondering...
Unless the new owner was smart enough to ask you for it..
