What shocks are you guyus running on your lowered rex?
I have been cruising the searches on shocks, but I want to know what some of you people here are running for shocks.
I have a 2" lowered CRX, and my stock shocks are GONE! (Bouncy bouncy bouncy)
I want to get some shocks that will withstand a 2" lowering job, and still keep their dampening properties. I am very ignorant on the topic of shocks. I have a few choices...
KYB adj.
KYB non adj.
Tokiko Blues
Koni Reds
and I doubt I could afford em.... Koni Yellows
are there any non-adjustable shocks (like some above) that will be ok to use with my CRX? I am also using Weapon-R adjustable springs. I know they suck *** as well, and I am also considering getting some strait up 2" lowering springs, and ditch the adj. springs. I am sure they would provide a much smoother ride then the POS Weapom-Rs.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

**** Blues--I had for 3 mos., then wanted something better. Just go w/ Illuminas from the get-go, when i put em in the difference was unbelievable--set em to your liking
use search
I just want some current opinions. Read first buddy.
I've got KYB GR2's (non-adjustable) on my '90 hatch, with coil-overs. These shocks will not hold up with 2" of lowering. Mine rides good with the coil-overs almost up to stock height, when I lowered it, it rode like ace.
I'm not saving up for some Teins..

I had Illuminas on my 90 DX hatch. I thought they were good, considering it was the first time I had ever put a after market shock on one of my own cars.
Then I decided to sell the Illuminas to get a set of Koni's and it is a night and day difference. The Koni's felt a little less streetable, but the handeling feels alot more stable and easy to control. Not that I didnt like the Iluminas.
My advice is get the Koni's because there not much more $$$ and worth it.

if u want a really good shock/strut go with a set of tien's there one of the best out there but they are gonna cost u about 1300 if not my set up is kyb agx with ground control coilovers rides nice until u hit railroad tracks or dips.
I am using AGX's at the moment. I was running around with H&R race springs on them for about a month and it rode wonderful... but there was still quite a bit of fender gap
So I bought some ground controls... now it looks good and rides ok, unless there are any bumps on the road... then you go bouncy bouncy

i have my crx lowered just about 4" it is 3.75" and i was thinking that it is still not low enough!!!!!!! but if i lower anymore the scrapping against the wheel well will be WAY Worse, but anyway what are good shocks for me for that low of a car?
Thanks for the tips guys. Anybody know a cheap website to get the KONI's from. I am also going to replace my Weapon-R adj. springs. I think I may just get an H&R spring set that is about 2.25 drop.
I have never replaced shocks before. Will I need to pick up any more parts? (Other than shocks, and springs)
Thanks again.

Black CRX: 2.75" drop is not too much for you? you must not run a B series motor. header=smashed.
