Question about REAL Spoon SW388 16"
There's some guy selling a set of rims of what HE THINKS are Spoon SW388s in 16". He says he has a few sets but doesn't know for sure if they're Spoons. He also says theres a MADE IN RUSSIA stamp in the back and they weigh 12.5 lbs for 16". He's selling for dirt cheap ($800) for a new set of 4 in 16". He also states they are flat black.. So, are these real? I'm interested in picking up a set, but don't wanna get jipped.
I know for a fact that Desmond Regamaster are made in Russia.. In which spoon and desmond are the same correct me if I'm wrong guys.

the spoons have only the 4 holes for the lugs, rotas have the lug holes, then 4 more ovalish holes in them

I found these from a website selling SW388s
Spoon 15's have 4 oval holes. Spoon 16's do not. They will be stamped "Made in Russia" on the backside between the mounting holes. They should have a Desmond sticker on them too - on the inside of the rim.
Ok hmm.. Here's a pic of 4 lug WITHOUT the oval holes (pic from another H-T user)
Here's a pic of 5 lug Spoons without holes
And here's a pic of 5 lug Spoons with round holes between the lug nut holes
I'm pretty sure that last pic is 16"...

Go to his place and take some pics at different angles for everyone to evaluate. If he's a friend he won't mind you doing that
And if they are real.. shoot... tell him to hook me up with a set.haha

Well I checked em out...they are 12 and a half pounds indeed... and have MADE IN RUSSIA stamped in the back (although it was between the lug nut holes). However, it seemed as if they weren't as flat as those 16" Spoons in that link CIVICtypeS posted. They were very close to Rota "flat black". Also no Desmond stickers in back. The were sealed in plain brown boxes.. He lowered the price to $760.. I just went with my instinct and walked away lol. Is anyone aware of any other fake Spoons made by another company??
