Anyone upgrade the M/C and brake booster on an EG ?
did a bit of searching and turned up nothing, need some help on my specific question.. anyone with an EG upgrade the master cylinder, booster or proportioning valve?
my situation is that i just upgraded to ITR 5 lug and I know the CX M/C does a fine job of braking but the brakes have so much more potential, ive heard terms as 4040 adn 15/16 but not sure where these #'s fit in, and what i can do? I want to get the ITR master cylinder and booster, but seems im gonna have to do something about the lines, i see the ITR has 1 in the front and one on the side, would i have to get the prop valve from an ITR as well ? anyone who has messed with this i really need some light !! what you guys recommend is good for me?

use a integra rs proportion vavle cuz the rs got 6 lines.if u use a itr gsr master cylinder you have to bend a line but with a rs it bolts rite on. but the itr/gsr master cylinder is 1 and i think rs is 15/16???dunno if that matters?o yea you cant use a itr/gsr proportion vavle cuz it have 4 lines.
ok now im getting more information .. here's whats in my head.
1- how hard is it do disconnect the prop valve? its a lot of lines and that thing in on the firewall so im just picturing getting to it and replacing it..
2- why does the rs have 6 lines and itr 4 ? the more lines the better? what are the extra 2 lines for and why shouldnt the itr have that ?
3- the itr is 1in in what ? where does that size come in ? and what will make that different to the 15/16 ?
4- how many lines does the CX prop valve have ?

Do this get a integra 1' mc pv and brake booster from sohfast.com
all you will have to do is flair one line...i was clueless and i got it to work...great mod for car.

I was actually wondering this myself. I have a VX, and an Si (2000) prop. valve, and the two do not look anything alike. (VX has a dual prop. valve?)
Is it possible to make the Si/Integra valve work with this?

Also, I know that 96+ Civic EX's and Si's all have 15/16" MC, and I believe the 94+ Integras all do as well. (except Type R, not sure)

Just buy a 92-95 Si Porportioning valve for your cx. NO FLARING required. I also have a 1in ITR MC/BOoster in my EG. NO FLARING required, just some careful rebending.
You need to have a 6 line prop. valve. Unless you have ABS. ABS uses 4 lines. If you can find a Integra RS MC and booster, you wont have to flare any lines or bend any lines.
hmmm now when you say get a si pv does that mean the pv and all the lines? how much will hondaparts charge for this? and if it comes with all the lines that means it has 4 ? just like the itr ? how many do i have now on my CX ?

The RS MC is 15/16". 1/16 doesn't make that much of a different. I do have an extra RS MC/booster and 4040 prop. valve just lying around. I just pulled it from a Integra a few days ago.
so your saying the RS comes with rear disc..
and the mc and booster are 1" so its exactly equivalent to an itr ?
just that all my current lines will line up? how hard is it to find the rs mc and booster?
The ITR master cylinder isn't worth the trouble of learning to double flare brake lines. Trust me. Been there, done that. Won't do it again.

what is the compromise in pedal travel ? like example in the difference..
also what makes a 4040 valve special ? and other are there?
if the 15/16 is the RS, i guess thats the biggest before the ITR 1" , but what is the size of the LS one ? acura has different sizes in all trims ? oh and what size do i have now in a CX ? so i know the gap im upgrading to ?

I think all civic and integra with r. disks use 15/16 MC.

dont some JDM ITR's have no ABS, i guess for track use,...errr... so getting a jdm itr 1" mc w/o abs would be good?
this is the info i have so far.
1- i have 6 lines, but no 4040 pv, but a non abs pv from an rs is 6 line and 4040
2- rs mc and booster are 15/16 and have no abs so no modding needed.
3- itr is 1" same for gsr but they have abs so flaring and bending needed.
4- 96-97 itr has 1" mc and booster and no abs

I took pics of my setup, whick I believe is #2 on your list. The MC is a 15/16
