I am attempting to install my ITR rear seats now. I have removed my old seats and now I have some problems. The little hooks that the *** coushion (sp?) hooks onto the chassis w/ in those little holes do not match up at all. The posts that secure the back coushions (sp) appear to be too long, like I might have to take a dremel to them or something. Please look at the pix and tell me how to fix this. It looks like my new ITR *** coushion is not nearly as wide as my stock *** coushion, whats up w/ that? I thought the only gap after install would be between the back and *** coushions, not on the side too.




See how the hook and hole don't match up? Please help!

from the picture i can tell you have a 92-95 civ

the only seats from a teg that fit flush in the civ are the sedan seats from a teg (thats what ive heard)

 

What? The seats are going in a 92 Si....a 5th gen hatch

Ya, I have a 2dr Civic, I thought they were supposed to bolt in w/ no mods. But there is supposed to be a small gap.

from what i remember there will be a gap on the back and on the sides. you can use some small parts of carpet under the gaps and it will look pretty good.

I can deal with the gaps, what I am most concerned about is that the hooks that secure the *** cushion to the chassis do not at all match up w/ the stock holes for the stock hooks. Am I going to have to cut a hold in the chassis or what?

hey is the *** coushion one piece?? if not maybe you are mounting them vise versa.... chech that out... (i`ve never seen itr seats and now nothing about them though)

 

There is nothing that can be done about the bottom cushion.... just rig it with some zap straps and put foam under either side to level it. To fit the back part of the seats you half to remove the fabric and cushions from the ITR seat frame and swap it to your stock seat frames. Then It should fit perfectly. Any questions, IM me

 

I IMed you, whats a zap strap? Same thing as a zip tie? How is the fabric and coushioning going to be removed from the frame?

just cut the hooks off your old seat and sodder it or weld it to the new seats, i just used some radiator clips and it fit fine

 

I can't dude, the *** cushion is composed of a metal wire frame with foam completely around it. The hook is deep in foam, that would definately cause a fire.

 

im not an expert, but i thought that you can take the seat off of the frames that there on now, and re-attach to the seats your civic came with and then a perfect fit?? i could be wrong but i remember reading that. if you want, AIM me, and i can tell you other sites to check out that might help you. i just dont want to say names i shouldnt in here. im a noob to this place, dont wanna make any enemies.
