1995 GSR block, LS/VTEC conversion. DONE RIGHT! Complete swap including throttle cable.
Block mods- Built to hold 10k RPM's
GSR block #0100346
LS crank & rods
ARP Rod bolts
JDM ITR 25 os pistons (11.6:1)
Mugen baffled oil pan
Balanced and weight matched
Head mods- Max redline 9.5k with Skunk2 springs.
Head and intake manifold were ported & polished by WBR
Type R intake valves
Skunk2 dual valve springs & retainers
ITR lost motion assembly
RC engineering 4mm overbore t-body
Factory GSR cams & sprockets
Tranny-
LS with JDM LSD installed, no grinds, no problems.
Fidanza 7.5lb flywheel
ACT AI4XTSS clutch
Exhaust-
JDM ITR 4-1 header, port matched and welded
Factory upper shield
Brand new O2 sensor.
Randomtech 3" universal cat. Flanged for header and 2 3/8" exhaust.
Fastline skid plate V1.0
2.5" straight pipe for racing only
Extra mods-
B&M FPR, will include Walbro 255lph intake pump
JDM ITR valve cover & GSR valve cover cut for tuning the gears
UDSM P72 ecu with Custom ECU chip (note, the ECU has a switch on it to go back to factory for smog reasons).
The engine currently has 6000 miles on it since rebuild complete.
All new parts were install at the time.
Water pump
Thermostat
Belts
Headgasket
Gaskets, etc
It also comes with P30 AC bracket, P/S Pump, and new alternator.
$7000 - Complete swap
$6000 - Long block w/ everything BUT tranny, linkage, and axles.

Yep.
Since we all know the LS/VTEC is actually a good power making engine, but it costs a LOT to build it correctly.
So, since my GSR crank was fugged before ACL bearings were available for the GSR block, I tossed in a LS crank & rods, and had some work done.

That's a really interesting set up. It makes a lot of sense...
How would this set up do in situation where the revs are held pretty high for a longer duration of time? Like in a road racing app. Would the rod/stroke ratio be something less than desirable for that sort of thing?
