Just Put Test Pipe On My Integra And>>>>>>>
It makes my car sound like the biggest peice of rice around. I have a 94 integra ls with the I/H/E and it sounded great and smooth. With the test pipe it sounds raspy and like a bumble bee and you can hear me from 2 miles away(no joke) my freinds can hear me getting on the freeway near my house. I am for surely getting the carsound cat now because I can't stand the sound. My word of advise is not to get a test pipe ,just high flow cat. Just thought I would share my experiance.
anyone else have this problem, I just ordered a complete comptech exhaust (header, test pipe, catback) I will be damned if my car is going to sound like a damn bumble bee!!! I hate that raspy ****
Hehe.........if you think thats loud try driving in my car at home (2.5in exhaust, testpipe, and a N1 muffler). I swear you will become deaf after a few minutes
I got a Hi-flow cat and its raspy too....I got them to put a resontor in it and now its sounds better but still has that crappy raspy sound
My g/f has a 2001 gsr and she has an aem CAI, JDM 2.5" DC header, apexi n1 exhaust, and carsound highflow cat and it sounds great no raspy buzzy noise. Thats why I am going with carsound

to the guys that said test pipes are for power not sound.. how much power is a test pipe gonna make over a high flow cat?
Get a freeflow cat. My friend had a testpipe on his 97 Integra GS (NOInteGreddy) and it sounded terrible!! It was loud and raspy too, and it was with a Greddy SP! He switched back to a stock cat and didn't notice much of a powerloss, but the car sounds so much better now. It sounds like a different car now.

I have a resonated testpipe on my teg using a apexi dunk exhaust, and it sounds nice, just a little louder then before to make it sound meaner.
testpipes are good for turbo's screw getting them for N/A unless you have hella internal work!!! you need alil bit of backpressure and a carsound cat is exactly that. Not to mention you sound like all of the wanna be fast and the furious retards driving around town that are uneducated and just gutted out their cat just after putting a decal job and neons on their car! test pipe = rice why annoy everyone for that 1.2 HP you got at top end?
(I am not talking about resenated(sp?) test pipes)

That is the combo I want. Is it a pain to get the jdm dc 4-1 to fit? Would it be easier for me to just get the usdm 4-1? Would the sound be much different?

It is a sweet set up and it all bolts right up, just make sure you get the 2.5" carsound cat. It is a great set up for top end, and I love the sound in vtec there is no buzzing at all it is a solid nice tone
Sorry but ANY backpressure is bad. People are believing the myth that backpressure increases torque or mid range power. That's totally false. You want ZERO backpressure and high exhaust gas velocity. The testpipe gives you just that. I have a testpipe on my turbo'd R and I gained 17WHP from it. On a NA car you will gain around 3-5WHP.
Why spend $200 for 75% flow from a Carsound cat, when you can spend $50 and get 100% flow from a testpipe?

But if you disagree, what reason would you give for getting a test pipe over a carsound??
