Default AEM CAI V2 (again)

I know there was post about this up already but some questions weren't answered. I am really really sick of my obnoxious whistle on my AEM. My car didnt come with AC so there was no problem when I installed it. Is this intake whistle free and how much better could it be than their existing one? They claim that the powerband with this one is all across rather than all high end with version 1. Does anyone have this on there R yet? I wanna know how it sounds, performs, and if it is whistle free. Thanks!

Wow your car must whistle really loud for it to annoy you so much.

Personally i kinda like the whistle sound and i haven't found it annoying at all (cept my passengers when i make it whistle repetitively on purpose) but if you hate it so much, you might as well get a comptech icebox.

I have heard the same whistle on GSRs, B16As, etc. and with other intakes (including stock). So it's not just you.

Stoxk does whistle, it's just softer because of the resonators. So if you wanted the least whistle possible, I unfortunately think you're gonna have to put the stock intake back on (full system).

What the hell? The whistle is normal. It has been covered on here a million times. It's physics. Why are you complaining about it, it is not that loud and it doesn't not affect performance. I don't get it.

The V2 is essentially the same intake. It will whistle most likely.

lol, I first noticed the whistle on my car after I drove home from work, staying in vtec 90% of the time, I was coming down the street and heard it whistle and I'm like "Oh ****, I think I broke my car!"

lol.. I think the whistle is kind of cool, I can only hear it from like 2,000 to 4,000 RPM though.

You should come to appreciate all the whines, whistles, creaks, cracks and everything else that your car does. It's quirky. What do you want? A quiet luxury car with good gas mileage??

You dont' like the whistle? get the icebox, arc, or better yet, the mugen. Put up or shut up. (that's me just playing...)

A whistle is normal for an AEM. The Mugen intake on the other hand, I have yet to notice a whistle..

When i had the AEM mine whistled quite loud from like 2-5k rpms. I have an icebox now but it still does the same thing, only not as loud. R's make all sorts of funky noises but you learn to appreciate them.

It's air tubulence... air swirling in and around the tb opening at the right velocity/angle.

arc, mugen don't do it, and if they do, it is barely audible above engine/road noise.
ice box is pretty quiet, but it does it.
AEM is a loud whistle.
J's does it, but barely.

I don't see what all the fuss about the whistle is. Much more important things to do than sell the 'old' AEM and try out the new V2 AEM simply to elimate the whistle. Pump up the volume!!!

I have an AEM CAI on my wife's Civic and it was incredibly noisy. Very annoying. So I wrapped in in Dynamat and covered that with a 'high tech' aluminized plastic thermal wrap (from the local hardware/building suply house).

The two layers dropped the sound level down to stock unless you use full throttle
