FS: Ported D16Y8 Head/Intake and other SOHC parts, turbo stuff
Here's the deal...I blew up my clutch the other week and since my car is so far apart I have decided to swap. I'm going to put the major parts up first to make sure they sell, then I will have lots of others up afterwards. Buyer of the head/intake/etc gets dibs on the rest.
What I'm selling:
1997 D16Y8 SOHC VTEC Head
1997 D16Y8 Intake Manifold
I installed this head on my 96 DX last summer. All parts have less than 8k miles on them. The head was ported (done by a local porting guy-he's very good and used a flowbench to ensure best results), had a 3 angle valve job, and got new valve stem seals. Basically it's a new head.
Here's a pic of the port job before isntallation:

My car with a T3/4 at 9 PSI made 206 HP:

Now I'd like to sell the head with the intake manifold. The intake has been port matched to the head, and the tb opening has been enlarged to accept up to a 62mm tb. I had a BBK on there but ditched it because it was junk and am now running a 2000 Si tb.
You will get :
1. the head and intake already bolted together, no need to get a new gasket
2. timing belt (also less than 8k miles)
3. IACV
4. stock cam gear
5. all bolts, brackets and hoses
6. 2 year old NGK blue wires...work fine
When I installed this head, I paid almost 800 for the head, porting, valve job, and misc parts. I am asking 500 for this stuff. If you are doing a mini-me swap like I did, you'll be saving a bundle and won't have to run around like I did buying nuts and bolts and brackets and crap.
If you buy this stuff, you'll have the option of buying the following:
polished valve cover, includes bolts, gasket (used for less than 6 months - it's rubber so it can be removed and reused) and new, unopened bolt seals
$75 shipped
Skunk2 blue adjustable cam gear
$65 shipped
2000 Si TB w/sensors and a couple of new gaskets
$100 shipped
1997 Civic EX ECU
$100 shipped
Apex'i V-AFC (have box and manual)
$225 shipped
Clutchmasters 7.5lb flywheel
$225 shipped
MSD 8.5mm wires, MSD ext coil cap (incl coil wire), OEM replacement rotor, all about 2 months old.
$80 shipped
MSD SCI-L
$190 shipped
Revhard turbo manifold w/custom downpipe incl braided flex(will post pics soon)
$400 shipped
Please, if you have a problem with my prices don't flood my thread. IM me instead.

Buuuuuump. Yes, it's D series baby.
Here are some pics. I have changed the downpipe so the 3 bolt flange is now on the opposite side of the flex joint. I also have a D16Y7 oil pan with an -8 fitting wleded on it you're interested. Oil pan is less than a year old.
Almost forgot...I'll include a dumptube for the wastegate. I made it for my 96, so it may not clear properly with earlier models. This thing was tricky to make.
PS: Manifold is tapped on #3 for EGT. I will include a plug for the EGT probe port if requested.

OMG the classifieds move so fast. I'm going to bump this post a few more times until tomorrow. If I don't get any serious bites I will try Ebay.
r u selling the valve cover and the cam hear or is the only way we can get it is if we purchase the other item? I'm interested in the valve cover and cam gear. Let me know!
I'll probably end up parting out. I just wanted to give the person that buys the head/intake the opportunity to get the other parts first.

I'd buy it if I had the money....just got done turboing my y7, so money is short...how much more power will a mini-me swap make over a y7 head and the shitty inverted manifold?? I know there must be a significant gain in power....not only would I need the head and mani, but the ecu as well......wish you had come along 6 months from now.
Bump....maybe the last time. Let me know if you are interested in the head soon because it will probably go on Ebay shortly.
i don't want the intake manifold or anything else. I just need the head. I'll give you 200 shipped??? anyway let me know i need this asap
Hang on, let me bend over. If I was willing to accept offers on the price, you'd need to be reasonable. You want to pay for a valve job and get a ported head free?
I snagged a stock clutch to run during the winter so I can really build a B18B. Hopefully I'll be ready to go next spring and everything will be apart and ready for sale once again.

Does the head come with valvetrain or a cam? Or is it just the bare head? If so, can you list the exact parts. Also, is the intake manifold bare or complete?

LOL no biggie it's understandable. Anyway, I decided to postpone the swap at the last minute. I was trying to be covert but my wife started asking too many questions...
"What are you doing to your car?"
"How much money are you spending?"
"How long are we going to have to share my car?"
So I decided to take a few months and build a motor rather than try to sneak a stock swap in there right now. Hopefully everything will be ready in under 6 months and everything will be out of the car and ready to sell.

I've very interested, because I'm ready to do a mini-me swap. 500 is a little steep though (I don't doubt it's a good price, I just don't have enough $$). Where are you located?
Let me know if you're in for some marginal
negotation.

If you think it's steep why do you not doubt it being a good deal? Read the whole thread first. Then, kick yourself in the *** for being a serious lowballer. For $500 you were getting what cost me around $1000 for all the extras I was throwing in.
Dude, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to insult you or anything - I realize it's a good deal. Like I said, I'm very interested. Is it 500 shipped or 500+shipping? If it's 500 shipped I have the money straight up, if it's 500 + shipping I can have the $ in a week or two.
BTW. Is this for the complete head/intake manifold? I see that you've parted the valve cover off of it. Is it just the actual head itself?
