B16 swap woes
I swapped in a B16A1 into the wifes 91 std
Evereything went in good its 91 B16A1 w/ a J1 transmission
Ordered the Hasport shift linkage, Hasport motor mounts, Hasport Dx- Sir wiring harness & even the Hasport AC braket.
Went to start it for the first time, vehicle spun over good but wouldn't start
Oh realized i hadn't wired up the ECU yet
DOH
Waited a few days went in & wired the ECU up
went to start the car turned over but no start
checked, car had no spark, swapped in another distributor
tried but nothing car just makes a thump sound & the positive terminal starts to get hot
Has anyone had this problem
I need help from EF swap gurus

Double check your wiring, i thought i had it 100% right the first time i did it (I was having the same problem as you - fuel but no spark), but after a good nights sleep i went back and it was wrong.

Does the engine sound like it doesn't have any compression. Try putting a teaspoon of oil into each one of the sparkplug holes with the sparkplug removed so it will coat the rings and build compression. Alot of these engine have been sitting around for months and won't hold compression being started for the first time. After the engine runs for a little bit, it will hold compression fine.
well i went and redid all of the grounds with 4 guage wire
redid the one to the tranny from the frame
the one on the valve cover
& the one from the body to the negative terminal
turned key over .............................................. nothing
tried different variations nothing
gonna try to new positive battery cables tomorrow & a big truck battery to see what happens unless anyone else has any other ideas

man i dont know what it can be...seriously it can be so many things...i hate when this kind of stuff happens...si many damn wires and if one is off it doesnt work...its annoying but all worth it in the end...i would say do a compression test just to check it out...just make sure u have a lot of life on ur battery
