Default Bye Bye JUN USA

I hear that JUN USA will no longer be distributing parts. They will only be building and selling engines.
I was told that they were not making as much money selling parts as they do building engines, plus the fact that their parts were always back ordered from Japan, it became a real hassle and not worth it.
Anyone got any more info to add to this? I was informed of this from a reputable source.

I am in agreement.

When i "tried" to deal with JUN for over 1 year...I had 10k to put down on a buy-in.

There was 1 problem. They had NOTHING I wanted in stock. They said it could be a 6 month backorder.

I tried again in 6 months, and they had already got the shipment and sold out of it very soon

And even though i put my company on the waiting list, they did not call me for a "instant" sale.

I do not know anyone who has bought a JUN motor? So how are they making so much money on something I never seen or heard of?

Weird.

that may be so, but putting in a warranty claim for a snapped cam may be a lot harder once JUN usa pulls out....

Do you think good import parts will ever go down in price like those for domestics? I've bought a new Edelbrock perf manifold for about $100 and could get a Holley carb for less than an intake and TB for my GSR. In fact, I could probably find both parts for less than a new TB. Then again, that was for my '68 Mustang and '69 Camaro. Oh well...

although with the web it's easier than ever, it still is expensive for Japanese companies to break out of the country and go international. having a good distributor is a start but it goes beyond that with logistics, support, the language barrier, etc.

If this is true, it sounds like JUN is a little too young to be doing this. No doubt their products have excellent appeal in Japan and they will probably focus on selling there for the time being.

If any of you guys still need JUN parts give me a call. Titan Motorsports 407-277-8423 We're one of the biggest distributors on the east coast period (other than Nopi of course), and will be bringing in much more Jun. The stuff is in stock in Japan usually, so I don't know what Jun Usa's claims where, we would wait 6 months for Jun2 intakes, now that we import huge ammounts from japan we can call and have it in a week. Doesn't make sense to why they had this huge problem (even shipping by ship is only 1-2 month delay). For you shops James will hook you guys up with some nice wholesale discounts as well so never fear.

ummm...i have one.
but i don't think they're turning their focus on selling/building crate motors. most likely they are selling/building custom app stuff for their race clientele. who knows? i haven't called them yet...maybe i'll post up the real deal later?

As soon as more people leave the scene they will drop. Unfourtanetly the Fast and Furious 2 is coming out soon so it will be a while before they drop to where they should be. GSR Swaps used to be $2500 installed.. Then it became popular..

JUN USA is going to be tuning and R&D. JUN parts have ALWAYS been out of Japan. JUN USA mainly just wharhoused the parts, and then distributed them to the US. It will just take longer to get the parts now. Though, there are some shops that can get JUN in less than a week.
