Why does my turbo timer shut off my coolant fans?
Whenever my turbo timer is on, it will not allow the coolant fans to kick on. However, when the timer goes off the fans will come back on. Yes my coolant fans run when the car is off and that is normal. Thanks for the info guys
because its hook up to not a wrong but to your accessory power. To confirm this try turning your AC on...if the fans still dont work then you need to look for an alternative source.
I think it might be because honda's have two wires that recieve power from the ignition switch. One controls the acessories like the stereo and the other controls things like the AC.
Mine is the same way. It hasn't bothered me enough yet to try this but a guy at Apex'i (the timer I'm using) said to try hooking both wires up to the timer. If you take a volt meter to the wire's coming off you ignition switch you'll find two wires will carry voltage in the IG2 position and one other that will carry voltage in the IG1 position. Hook the two up to the corresponding wire on the timer.
You have to post here if that works for you because I'll have to try it too if it does. Well, I guess I could test it myslef

I removed my ac, and the dual slim fit fans are wired both to the stock fan wires. If i switch ig1 with ig2, do you think it will work?
I don't think that will work. Like I said, there are a total of three wires that see current when the car is on. One wire sees power when the ignition switch is one position 1. The other two see power when the ignition switch is on position 2.
I'm sure you have the timer hooked up correctly but try splicing off of the wire from the timer that is hooked up to the IG2 wire and running the splice to the second IG2 wire. That should cure the problem in theory. That will give both wires current which should mean the car will be fully on instead of half on like it is now.
