I just ordered this camber gauge from harborfreight
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=42496

has anybody used it? I figured it was worth the $10 risk if it sucks.

also ordered this toe gauge
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=30167
which I believe has been talked about before. Basically only slightly more convenient than using the string method.

and finally, I did not order this but just stumbled across it on the web.

For ~$160, this kit uses optics to allow for alignment of camber, caster and toe on all 4 wheels..

hrmmm.. would the magnet work thru alloy wheels?

I use a normal bubble level and string (plus a tape measure) on the Volvo...

On the ITR a 'lifetime alignment' from Firestone gets a workout from time to time.

Same link as the Camber guage.. the camber gauge will work fine for steelies...

I use Longacor toe plate on my cars, and love them, since that is pretty much the only thing you can change..

I figured I could put the magnet on the rotor. smooth and flat. would that not work?

most likely not, because you would have to jack the car up to take the wheel off to do so, therefor your camber won't matter when the car isnt' on the ground...

I had that toe gauge before I bought the Longacre plates. It's sucks! I gave it to a neighbor and he ended up throwing in the trash. That camber gauge doesn't look like it will help much either....
