Question on Ignition recall for 6th gen Honda civics?
Well I did recieve the recall this past week and Ive been wondering if the dealer will frown upon my Swap (b18b swap) I just did a year ago..I know the recall is on the actual ignition and not the starter.. but do u think they'll void it? any advice from any actual Honda dealership mechanics roaming this board will help quite a lot
I wanna know also. They will probably frown on our swaps
frown on them only if they arent legit maybe.. honda knows whats going on in the import world and some dealers push it by selling aftermarket parts.. a couple guys i know that work at the local honda dealer all have swaps and are boosting or have n2o in the trunk..
Another reason im on Honda-tech.com
You can forget about that recall. Yes Honda knows what's going on in the import world. But the recall only applies to the car if it is in it's original condition. I am factory Honda trained technician. Trust me.

I got the work done no problem. I have an 98EK hatch with a B16A2. The dealer did not even make a comment. actually, to do the ignition work, it is all in the interior. They have no business even popping the hood when you go there. Aso, a recall is a government mandate. They must do the work by law. If they give you crap, tell them you will report them to the BMV.
