ITR clutch disc same as GSR clutch disc?
No. Same pressure plate, different friction disc.
The 97,98,2000 are the same part #'s. 2001 is different.
97,98,2000 Acura parts:
22300-P73-025
Pressure Plate Same as GSR, LS, RS
22200-P73-R01
Clutch Disc R only
?????-???-???
Release Bearing (I think it's a Toyo Roki)
22100-P73-005
Flywheel R only

according to those part #s all the parts are itr specific.
i know the plate is different. same clamping force, less surface area
disc i would assume to be the same material and build, just less area to match the plate
flywheel we all know is different.

So, it appears that not all the '94-'01 Integras share the same pressure plate and friction disk. I had always heard the the Type-R pressure plate had a little bit more clamping force (~15%) than the non-Type-R pressure plate. This would make since since there are different part numbers. But, I had also had always heard that the friction disk was the same. Any thoughts, comment, further information, etc?
Also, one more thing. I had saved some information from a previous post which stated that there were two different part numbers for the Type-R friction disk.
22200-P73-025 friction disk ('97-'98 Type-R / made in Japan)
22200-P73-R01 friction disk ('00-'01 Type-R / made in Ohio)
Does anyone now if the is a benefit to one or the other? I would suspect not, but you never know.

The clamping force is designated by a colored dot on the plate.
Red, Blue, and Green. Red being strongest, and Green(i think) being the weakest.
Like I said, the clamping force is the same. the area is less on the itr.

Can you explain why the Type-R has less surface area? Does it have anything to do with using a differenet flywheel (ie. lighter)? Also, does this mean that a Type-R pressure plate and friction disk will not mount up/match up to a '94-'01 non-Type-R flywheel?
Pressure = Force / Area
Force is constant, reduce area and pressure increases
the pressure plate housing is still the same piece, just the contact plate is different(pretty sure on this one).
Either way, everything is interchangable.
