Now there's thread after thread about what B-Series motors can and cannot handle but theres nothing on d-series motors. What is the most power anyone had put down on a stock d block?

 

To add to this, what are some of the top numbers being put down on built d series blocks...

 

stock bottom ends.. D series, i have seen 150WHP on a non vtec d16a6 all motor.

if you are talking about turbos, there are more factors to consider but I have seen dyno runs on stock block sohc vtec turboed at about 250whp.

13psi on an FMAX kit...maybe not 250 but probably 230.

 

i believe turbodCX hit 269, or somewhere in that area.

 

yeah i hit 269whp,but that was on crower rods,and arias pistons..
the block and sleeves were still stock,with NO blockguard.....

Now i have a block going to golden eagle, and i paln on hitting 350-400whp on about 25-28psi!!!
Can you say 11 second street legal SOHC?????

197whp on a D17 (vtec), completely stock block, with turbo.

 

What about N/A power? Whats the most produced under what setup?

 

Last time I hit the dyno I hit 154 whp on my stock D16Z6 with 100k miles on it.

the best time ive seen from him is a 10.4@140
2nd would have to be Sal leovne(last name is misspelled) he was making 440whp running 10.9s before he switched to a B

Cant forget Andrew Yang. Over 400hp. and 10.50s. First in the 10s sohc!

no way for me to be hitting 12.5 at 230 whp more like 260whp

 

the green 1.5L CRX that NUFORMZ built hit 10.2 or 10.0 no wheelie bars........

 

o man,i forgot about andrew yang but i dont think he was the 1st into the 10s with a sohc.I think it was the ACME crx,remember that article in turbo oct 98 "12 quickest hondas" it was #11 and the only sohc in the group unless maybe that car WAS andrew's car but it didnt say who was driving it.

 

Ultimately the D16 can't hang w/ the B series, but I wish someone would take a D16 into the 9 sec club (and I know it could be done) but a high 9sec capable car doesn't win races these days...someone just needs the desire to go out there and say "I want a 9sec D16" regardless if it wins races or not...It would be great to see...any takers?

Look at Bissi...he's got a 10sec N/A D series and no one else in the world can say that...sometimes that's cooler than winning races...

It's almost like saying ultimately a 4cyl can never have the full potential of a V8...so why do we fix up honda's...I think it's that underdog status that keeps us going...When you pop the hood of an 11sec B series you say "cool"...When you pop the hood of an 11sec D series you say "Holy mother of jesus"...

youre right...people will have more respect for the person with the smaller motor but it all comes down to who is faster..also what turbo are you running on your hatch D16A6Turbo??...cause 13.9@8psi isnt to bad

im shooting for around 230 hp from my z6, it will definately be over 200 but hoping for some #'s htat i dont expect....

 

IMPO hit 9's with their CRX with a SOHC.

 

T3...what came w/ the revhard system...

Does anyone have pictures of the IMPO 9sec d16???

Z6 bottom end
Nathan's internals
ARP headstuds
Cometic head gasket
Hondata 2bd
RC 550's
and a T3/T04E

It's nice to know that someone else is attempting this.

 

I dont think Impo hit 9s until they went with a dohc.

 

oh, I thought I remembered one of the guys saying that their CRX hit 9's on the current setup. At that time it was a SOHC.
