Whenever I'm stopped, put the car in first and begin to release the clutch, the errrrrk noise sounds. It sounds like the car is doing a mini-burnout, but the wheels are barely moving. I'm thinking the flywheel may be scarred up a bit from da NAWWWS, but it only happens when releasing the clutch in 1st gear. Everything is fine in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th gear.
nah, no 6th gear. That would be the fizzle though. Any ideas? The clutch grabs fine. Clutch is ACT 6 puck w/ HD Pressure Plate, stock flywheel & FD. D drove it and couldn't really figure it out.
Also, my new Axxis Ultimates from Cobalt squeak like a ****. I'm thinking it may just be rubbing somewhere, but anyone else have squeakage? Andie w/Cobalt <----buy his products. He keeps calling me wondering if I figured it out yet. That's customer service at its best!
If you can help, you'd be the fizzle y0!

Why aren't you using an "Xtreme" pressure plate with that 6 puck disc?
The HD pressure plate isn't meant to be used with the 6 puck.

I don't have an answer for you about this, but I have the same clutch setup and am taking it out because that noise is now in every gear. It sounds like a pig squealing. I'm going back to OEM.

Im using an extreme pressure place with my 6 puck and I get the same noise. I spoke with an ACT dealer and he told me this noise is totally normal and fine. Ive had the clutch in for almost a year and the noise has not changed.

Though I tend to always pop the clutch rather than slip it.
I only get the noise in 1st gear. Do you pop the clutch in 1st? If so do you get the unbeleivable wheel hop? If not what have you done to eliminate this. A little off topic I know but it is extremely bad.

Solid motor mounts are your friend if you want to eliminate wheel hop.

I'm glad some other people know what I'm talking about. It's just sort of embarrassing when your taking a girl to lunch or dinner and she's like, "Is your car alright?" or "What's wrong with your car?"
I guess Sean is referring to adj. the travel of the clutch pedal to alleviate noise; didn't do squat for my Cusco clutch (I guess due to the metal disk), but engagement is much better now
I'm guessing this is a trait of the metallic clutch discs.
Also I think the reason why I don't hear my clutch is because I run my car with an open downpipe. That slipped my mind for some reason.

what else is he going to say!, no its horrible, take it out and return it!

OK. I called ACT directly about this issue and the guys there told me they have never heard of it. (which in my opinion is BS)
i can't stand the noise anymore from my clutch cause it's loud and I feel like I'm driving a piece of crap. I have the act 6 puck and heavyduty pressure plate. Hopefully there is a way to get rid of the noise.
