Default CRX or EG?

im gunna be selling my coupe soon, (94 DX) and i dunno if i should get a 88-91 CRX? or a 92-95 Hatch. I like CRX fir cheap B16a swap, and weight. Looks, ok, but very simple. I like the Eg for looks, and interior, plus all the other things that come with it. what should i do?

CRX for racing, EH for a little of both. Most swaps will just drop in the EH without any problems...keep that in mind...no need for special mounts or anything

Get a CRX!!! I just sold my turbo'd EG hatch for my 91 CRX Si. It's so much more fun than a hatchback. CRX's are getting a lot more rare, and EG hatches are getting a lot more common. Plus swaps and parts are so much cheaper for the CRX than the EG. B16a SiR full changeover is over $1g cheaper than the SiR2 swap for an EG. Also my CRX feels a lot more like a sports car compared to my EG. The EG felt like I was driving an economy car. There's just something about my CRX that an EG can't dupilcate.

first gen b16a might be cheaper and a reason to go with a crx

but a second gen b16a is alot newer

I say depends on what u wanna build... IMO, 92-95 hatchs are taking over my area... Thats y im trying to sell my Civic to a buddy of mine who cant get his licenses...

Hatchs are very fun and i agree it can do both track and race... Well at least mine was... And i did have a CRX at the same time, but i couldnt spend as much time as i wanted to cuz my motor blew in my CRX... But im sure i can build a CRX to do both race and daily drive to my needs... Im researching that now ...

If I were you, I still think I will get the CRX instead of the EG. Why?? Because driving a CRX is more fun than an EG...but if I got the $$ to burn, I will take both for sure. Both cars are easy to find parts and fix up, and the final decision is based on you. Good luck for your search.

Hmmm...this is making me reconsider. Recently, I've seriously been thinking of selling my CRX to buy a EG hatch and do a B18c swap. I've even compiled a list of possible cars and was willing to drive one back from the LA area (1000 mi).

Not having driven and EG or EK hatch (ever), could someone else who's driven both a CRX and an EG offer your input? Thanks a lot

CRX I love my CRX, if someone wanted to trade me an EG for a CRX...I'd trade, then sell the EG n get another CRX n keep the money, lol. But yea, the CRX feels like a very nimble car, responds great n feels nice and light...plus its soooo easy to park that sucker anywhere! Only thing that sucks sometimes is if u wanna take a lotta people somewhere... but other than that, go for the REX man!

If you go to the Civic forum watch them all vote for 92-up Civic.

i drive a B16 crx with some del sol cams, smashed header, and shitty suspension. i like it so much more than my friend's tuned B16 EG hatch, with crower 2's, DC jdm knockoff header, full exhaust, blah, blah, blah. still feels like an economy car. not to mention, CRX dashes own! talk about a cockpit.

CRX aren't nearly as common as a EG hatch. Those things are everywhere but a CRX is not something you see all the time. The 88-91 CRX body just epitomizes what a rice rocket is. It looks awesome. But it's really up to you.

CRX's are a lot of fun I have now owned 3 of them (a 84, 85, and a 91) And by far like the 91 the best well I suppose 4 I also have another 91 as a parts car........... I have also owned a 93 civic for a whole 3 months I sold it to buy a stupid Z24 for for my girlfriend BIG MISTAKE!!! So if its between a Z24 and a Civic well then Civic all the way but as for a CRX versus Civic CRX HANDS DOWN!! Plus you can do what I did with my parts car I stripped it and me and my brother in-law picked up and set it up against the back of my garage!!! WAAAAY Less storage LOL!!!
