Default OT: S2000 HID

I saw some sweet HID's coming towards me the other night on the opposite side of the road. I saw them flickering with so much blue and purple... just awesome. Turned out to be an S2000, and I was wondering, do you think it was an aftermarket kit? Or do the stock S2000 housings make the lights colored (like beamers, etc.)?

I'm really interested in running some OEM HID on my R, but i am wondering about cost. Some have said the best way to go is to just get a phillips 4300 kit, and then get ahold of the OEM projectors (like from a BMW). How much would something like X5 projectors cost?

Thanks,
Jon

that is factory HID on S2000. my friends s2000 NEVER stays the same color. at even the slightest angle the color changes from a rich violet, to blue to pure white. IMO S2000 has the most gorgeous HID's out there.

Yes you can. But you would want D2R since accords do not come with projector headlights.

If you put the s2k kit on the accord it will NOT come out the same.

i just want really reliable lights that are really bright and i figured that a kit from an S2000 could do that. Or should i just get in on the group buy for a Phillips Kit? what do you think?

if you want that kind of look, put a thin layer of ion film on your headlights.

No. The thing that gives the S2k the effect it does is the bulb housing. Nothing to do with the HID setup.

Anyway to get the HID bulb housing in a JDM front converted integ? I want the S2000 HID look when looking at the car from the outside, and then I would use a Phillips 4300 setup. How do you all recommend doing this, and what would the cost be. I know one guy did it with a part from the X5 in his integ, and got the X5 look. Which parts do I need to look like the S2k, and where can i get them?

How did the Integra guy manage to do that? I opened up my headlights and I see no way of making it possible while maintaining stock adjustability. If you are talking about Wayne aka CanuckMX6, he is still in the process of making this conversion possible. I already have X5 projectors retrofitted inside my 1.6EL, so I know what I am working with here

Anyway, swapping to S2000 bulbs, ballast, projector lens, whatever will not get you the same appearance. You will need to swap the entire projector housing from a S2000/Audi/BMW X5 to get the OEM colour-flipping appearance.

IMO.
Last thing you want is to have a bluish tint to your HID's...

the projector.
So I just need a Phillips 4300k kit, and the S2000 projectors? Where could I get the projectors? Will the S2000 projectors be compatible with the JDM (non-HID front) and a phillips kit?

You will have to custom fabricate it. If you have never done anything like this, I don't suggest it.

You will need:
S2k headlights -> jack the projectors -> install onto JDM headlights

Are the S2000 projectors also what cause them to flicker so much, they seemed to flicker more then other HID's i have seen around as well.

Why would i need the S2000 headlights? Cant I use the Phillips ones that come with the 4300k kit? Isn't there somewhere I could just get the projectors?

I will not be doing this work myself, i will explain to my shop what i want done, and they will do it, if it is possible. Seems like we are only dealing with using one part (the projectors), i dont see why they wouldn't be able to find a way to get that in with the phillips kit. I dont feel comfortable trying to put something like this together on my own.
